So you can switch off the bathroom light while someone else is in the shower!
Muahahaha... our old apartment had this feature and I used it enthusiastically. When we moved, my boyfriend made sure the bathroom light switch was INSIDE the bathroom. No fun. <pout>

So you can make people poo in the dark. When I lived with my mom it was like that. So annoying b/c Id always forget that it was on the outside.

Wait, what?
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.
I think the worst is when the light is motion-sensitive and on a timer, so you'll be sitting there and all of a sudden it's pitch black and you're waving your arms, frantically trying to trip the motion sensor.

^^ that happened to me in college, while i was trying to poo in the campus center. fifteen minutes and off it went. *waddles out jumping up and down hoping someone doesn't walk in*
Love it!

Just remember, if your sitting down, its fine you can do that in the dark, but if your a guy and standing, you are so screwed.... good luck hitting the target. lol
I have to agree it is pretty much for the joke factor. Well unless it was a really lazy and cheap ass electrician/builder. lol

I wanna hang out somewhere that has light switches on the outside. I've never been able to do this, so I wanna have some fun. Yes, I am amused with silly things on occasion.

I think depending on the country, it may be a law, or building code, which requires it. I live in England, and in my flat, for example, the light switches for the bathrooms are both outside (the same went for my uncle's place in Germany). Also, there are no power outlets in the bathroom (except to power an electric shaver)...this has been my experience in most European hotels as well.

Ha! Id forgotten about that. Yes in England - at least at one stage you wernt allowed to have wall switches on the inside of bathrooms for safety reasons. Although alot of places had the switch on a string from the ceiling instead of or aswell as having the switch on the outside.
