T3! I've written a few posts on this product. Way better than the CHI, imo. (I have both.)

Protection: Rusk Hair Protection. It's a big yellow spray can. I love my CHI but T3 is excellent too. With those two you can't go wrong. just don't go cheap.

    Love it!

I use Chi irons on clients. For heat protection, I'll use either Redken Fabricate (for fine to normal hair that need minimum hold), Redken Align (for medium to denser hair), or Redken Smooth Down Heat Glide (for coarse or unruly curls and frizz).

CHD are the best hands down however for curly unruly hair nothing will beat the maxi glide. I will use the maxi glide initially to straighten my hair after washing and then I will use the CHD for every day touch up’s.

Ive been wondering about those. In your opinion, what makes it better than the CHI? I dye my hair lighter every 6 weeks or less and still get some split ends. I do everything I can to condition it but Im thinking its coming from my CHI.

Does anyone else have a Maxiglide? I just saw it on HSN yesterday, and I saw an infomercial for it last night, and it looks like it would work really well. I actually need a new straightener soon because mine is starting to die, and was thinking about trying the Maxiglide.

I use only cermeic straighteners. It's better for your color and less damaging.

^ Madison seriously the maxiglide is FUCKING AWSOME sorry but I had to swear there! I never ever leave product reviews on websites but I had to leave a review on makeupalley.com because it is that awsome. All my cousins and my sister in-law bought it after they saw what it did to me hair. I gave it 4 star's out of 5. the reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is because the plates are ceramic coated not full ceramic (I need to double check this though) however there has been no damage to my hair what so ever. Also it is a little bulky which may take getting used to for some again I have had no problems though.

^^^^ I'll have to try it then. It looks like it would work really well, and the models' hair is soooo shiny after they straighten it in the infomercial. I have very wavy hair, and overall my hair isn't extremely hard to straighten, but in some spots where the waves are almost more like curls it can be difficult.

You can use it when your hair is damp, it works faster, and your hair comes out smoother.

I think because I don't have to do as many swipes, it's been better for my hair. It's growing better now than it did when I was using the CHI.
