Default Help! My costume dye ran off onto my skin...

I've been wearing these red angel wings for Xmas at work lately, and the red dye off the lace ribbons that attach them around my arms have run off onto my skin, now I have bright red armpits! I've scrubbed and scrubbed and can't get it off. Any suggestions?

Have you tried hydrogen peroxide or alcohol? Hydrogen peroxide solution (like you'd get at the drug store) can have some mild bleaching action, and alcohol may dissolve some of the dye.

This might sound bizarre but try nail polish remover.

When my daughters purple hair color stained her face it was the only thing that took it off.

I was gonna suggest polish remover. If that doesn't work, shave. I've shaved off henna tats, lighter at least, on my legs. But shave as a last resort, b/c any chemicals will burn!!!!!

Pass the polish remover and go straight for the acetone. Just be sure to wash and moisturize the area after, it can be a little drying. If that doesn't work I don't know what will!

Thanks everyone! I had tried my nailpolish remover, but then later realised it probably didn't work because it was an acetone-free one.

I went to work and really, really couldn't stand wearing the wings anymore but the EC was like...I can't put you on the podium unless you're wearing them, you look ridiculous. So one of the girls who lives close by went and got me her super heavy duty nail polish remover, hahaha, and we scrubbed and scrubbed until we got maybe 90% of it off. Now I'm just hoping the rest will sweat off fairly soon. It was stinging sooooooo bad though!

Never am I wearing costumes again!
