    speaking our minds to managers

I have recently been having a desire to either ask or do it myself, putting a comment / suggestion box for the dancers in my club. I have ideas of improvement, marketing, etc. but I am not sure the management would appreciate my two cents. I feel if all the ladies made realistic comments, the managers could maybe see some validity in it. I feel sometimes they are caught up in the fast pace of the club, they aren't keeping up with competion and such. This is a big upscale club and I just not feeling we are working it to the maximum potential. The most recent frustration of mine was after reading the thread about how much you get for champagne rooms/hourlys. A smaller, less fancy club here,$400 goes to the girl. The girl I know there is not an extras girl. Our club, we get $250. Other posts to the prementioned thread, some said they made $600 -$800. Sooo.... after all this ... my question is.....do I shut up and deal or try in some way to bring things to the managements attention?

One thing to consider first .... people in authority rarely take well to their authority or ability being questioned.... this is true no matter how valid the question or complaint.

You really have to ask yourself how important it is to see changes in your situation. Is it a matter of right and wrong or just could be better?

The one time I think it's better to rock the boat is if it's about ethics. If your gut is telling you that a situation is just not ethical.. well then you gotta do the right thing.

Yes, I understand, that is why I said the thing about my two cents. I guess I love marketing so much ( I have managed other non stripping nightclubs and boutique restaurants ) I always have an opinion on improvement. My friend suggested writing anon. letters or email to the gm. I don't know. Maybe I am just sulking over their lack of advertising and our lack of vip money. I totally understand and believe in your point about ethics. Is fairness over competiors rates considered ethical? Thank you!!!

No thanks needed You gotta do what you gotta do and if you think this is a really important issue then go for it... if you can live with it though.... life might be easier in the long run.

    take care!

Lightbulb Re: speaking our minds to managers

I just posted a thread in the site issues section. I asked if we could add the other staff (managers, housemoms, floormen, waitresses, etc) We could see their point of view and maybe see ours. I don't ever want to come across bitching, I am too professional for that and it usually solves nada. You know we have a dj and custy section so..... why can't we unite, that seems fair and god knows, most haven't ever heard of SW. Don't you think that could make a difference for the whole industry? Just another thought.

It can work both ways. Great if you have a good idea and management thats cares and can / will act upon a good idea. Bad when you have crappy management who cant see a good or practical idea and listen and act to all the stupid suggestions that some people come up with.
If your friendly with management, I would run a few things past them and see what the response is.
