Default would the average gown club allow this?

I don't work in one now, but it's a good possibility I will when I go overseas.

anyway...how strict are most gown clubs on what constitutes a "gown"? I have a few, but what about a satin corset and long black skirt with a slit up the side, for a little bit of variety?

It's the same length, and in the same class as a gown looks-wise (as opposed to a bikini or booty shorts), but technically...well...it's not a gown. What do you think?

i think it always depends on managment at the particular club you're working at.. I know my manager is very strict and its hard to get away with wearing anything other than a "dancewear gown"... It sounds elegant though, and possibly something you could get away with.. I think i might be able to give you better advice if i could see it as well.

Are you allowed to wear robes? You could always wear one of those over your outfit and ditch it as soon as you get onstage. That's how I managed at the last gown club I worked at, without having to invest in lots of expensive long dresses.

try it w/ out asking, but bring a backup. don't ask, b/c that make it seem like you want them to streach the rules for you.

yah it always depends on management. Some dont care as long as the front or back ( fabric ) touches the ankles. while others ( like mine ) have it where slits are in specific places etc so no panties are shown.

I would get one that had a simple back slit, another with a front slit.

nothing neon ( most gown clubs dont allow that )

Basically buy a black one, and a white one. have the slits where not too much of anything is shown, nothing see thru and no wild prints or color.

the more basic and generic you go the better off you are.

flirt cataloge is where I get most of mine so I suggest that site , you can find the basics on sale.

I wouldnt bother with a robe, because its far too open and any upscale club will probably bitch how you bought a robe and not a gown. because they are different things.

we can wear short or long dresses and we even get away with two-pieces as long as the skirt is full length.

I've worked in clubs that had a strict "no 2piece outfits" policy, and some that would allow them as long as they were long and looked elegant, pretty, hot.

I think a zipup corset that is elegant-looking with a long skirt would work in most gown clubs. But in the end it depends on how strictly management interprets the dress code.

When the Beverly Club (in L.A., now closed) had a gown policy they would allow anything that was a dress, if it was 2 piece it had to have a long skirt. Robes were ok too.
