She said she lost her plug a few days back. This little guy is definitely stubborn, though! LOL

My goodness, reminds me of when JCB was born. Praying all is well VG. One exhausted family.
One more cup of coffee for the road,
One more cup of coffee 'fore I go
To the valley below....
Slowly moseying my way to the exit.

Yeah, I lost my plug last Tuesday/Wednesday. I'm having bloody show and the really strong contractions right now. But, they're coming every 25 minutes. So, its still the very beginning stages of labor. Baby is still moving around...but not as much...doc thinks late tonight or tomorrow. I'm very tired since you can't sleep through these contractions...dammit. LOL Add to the fact that Makayla didn't sleep well last night (I think she's a little "worried" about hearing me get up all the time at night...I HAVE to walk with these contractions).
Ok...I'm done...I've gotta go get some sleep right after this contraction...
Oh man Hon.. Don't I know it? I couldn't sleep that whole night before I had Hunter. Sure, you can doze off for a minute or two, but when another contraction hits, BAM! You're snapped awake in pain.
I hope it happens soon, and that you'll be able to rest!

Just try to relax between contractions. Even a little rest can help.

Dang, this is reminding me of when my sister had her son in 1996; her water broke early on a Tuesday morning, but they had to induce the birth so he could be born on THURSDAY AFTERNOON.
I agree with Guenevere...you are one tough lady, Venus! I, along with everyone else, look forward to meeting the little man VERY soon![]()

Venus, you are HARD core.
Do we know who the dad is yet?
People are not ruled by their memories.
I've always been told that a baby born after the due date will be a patient person... VG will have to tell us in a few years if that old wives tale is true or not
The essential humanity of men can be protected and preserved only where government must answer--not just to the wealthy, not just to those of a particular religion, or a particular race, but to all its people.

Errr, I feel very strange for knowing this but.. what's a plug? Is that when your water breaks? o.o

The plug is really just meant for protection against bacteria during sensitive development stages. Many women pass their plug up to two weeks before labor begins and their kids are fine. At this point, it's not a concern, as development is pretty much done. VG and her cute lil un will be fine.
Seriously, why do I know this?

Plug..I learned something new today. he.
Good luck with the labor!
I think it also protects against rupturing of the amniotic sac.
Incidentally with none of my three did I lose my plug or have my water break. Go figure.

D: Giving birth sounds terrible. I don't understand why people actually WANT to do it.

oooo! You've got a Sagittarius on your hands...
The Archer is really a centaur -- the lower half is horse, the upper half is a man. The man is holding a bow with an arrow aimed upwards toward the sky. This symbolizes the Sagittarian's drive to overcome basic animal instincts by aiming his thoughts into the divine realms of the heavens. In other words, you Archers are hunting for ideas and experiences that draw you into greater awareness. As such, you Sagittarians tend to love adventure, travel and philosophy -- all ways of extending beyond your immediate surroundings.
Archers tend to aim their arrows of thought upward, being the incurable optimists of the zodiac. You often look at the sunny side of life and the silver lining to any dark cloud. You are honest to a fault, for you can say what's on your mind before you realize that someone's feelings might be hurt. Since the centaur is part horse, there is also a connection between you Archers and horses, be it a love of riding or an emphasis on the most powerful part of a horse: its legs and thighs. In fact, many of you Sagittarians love outdoor hiking and long distance running.
Your motto is "It is better to know how to learn than to know." You seek knowledge and wisdom, never tiring of the quest for what is yet to come. Others enjoy being with you when you are in your outgoing and joyful mood, but you can become more sullen if you feel that your wings have been clipped. Even in a restrictive situation, however, you'll not lose hope--and it is this inspirational perspective that leads you to your greatest success.
Element: Fire
Fire signs are naturally warm. A fire gives light and heat, but it doesn't get depleted as others feed on its warmth. One candle can bring light to a room and it won't burn any faster if ten people read from its light than if there was only one. Fire doesn't plan its next move; it isn't logical. It simply is in the moment and will burn what fuel is available without judgment or forethought. For this reason fire signs can successfully rely on their intuition and survival instincts.
The fire of Sagittarius is warming, not hot -- but that's because it's far away. It's like a light in the distance that reminds us why we are heading in that direction or the stars that have been used for navigation. This is the fire of inspiration whose heat can motivate the mind to reach out into the wilderness.
And if you're interested in Feng Shui,
He will be "the light bringer"
"The Light Bringer"
In Feng Shui, you are considered an "East" person.
You are the sunshine for others. Music, dance and humor are part of making sure that your life is not boring. Don't stress yourself in your career and your health will blossom. Taking time for yourself will always help you to balance your busy life. You have the good fortune to have friends with money or to attract abundance in many levels of your life. Your family background will stay a source of wisdom and your cultural heritage will be always important as a base for your higher knowledge.
And if you like reading up on Chinese signs, your son's sign is The Dog:
The DOG … THE DISQUIET DOG
The Dog has a great feeling for justice and follows the rules of fair play. This deep moral sense also makes the Dog honest and loyal. Dogs are very intuitive but can tend toward pessimism -- and even see dangers where there aren't any. Anxious and short-tempered at times, they can also be magnetic leaders, enchanting and very generous. But don't question a Dog's belief in his or her destiny. And never, ever attack a Dog's children or home. If you do, watch all that usual doggie diplomacy disappear -- and run fast … or you'll be in for quite a scuffle.
Dogs are as loyal as they come and very giving to others as long as they don’t go against what the Dog believes is right. If they do, watch the Dog’s teeth come out! Lucky is the person who is loved by a Dog, because he or she will likely be loved forever. The Dog’s loyalty goes so deep it will endure lies and transgressions, no matter how much they make him or her growl.
Dogs have the ability to save themselves in almost any situation by applying their natural, practical smarts. They will accept leadership from a true leader as long as it makes sense to their belief system. Dogs are not always leaders themselves but will be close to leaders, who can count on the Dog to save the day. Dogs are great organizers -- they have a knack for controlling chaos with their logical approach and commitment to order and fair play.
The Dog’s devotion to others is admirable, but don’t overlook the Dog’s need for solitude and reflection on his or her own life.
Happy Birth!
I just got off the phone with VG.. No baby yet, but her water broke and her contractions are coming about every 12 minutes or so, and they're getting stronger. Shouldn't be much longer. She sounds good and is handling the contractions really well (She had a few while we were chatting).
She said she's going to use her jacuzzi tub when the pain gets real bad (to help ease contractions), but she probably won't do a water birth. The girl's a trooper though---she won't be having pain meds. Gotta give her major credit!
I hope he's born tonight or tomorrow though. She's already a week and 2 days overdue!

Yay! I'm excited for you.
Any updates?
