    Default Drink Hustle and Time

So I work at a drink hustle bar (we sell dances also) which is a bit of a new concept to me. I've caught on how to do it pretty quick but...

...When a customer orders you a drink, how long should it take you to drink it--We have price ranges in the tens starting at 10's, so I'm sure the price of the drink depends.

Also, how do you make the transition from drinking to dancing? I mean, if a customer has bought me a drink or two, should I ask for a dance?

I guess I just don't know the etiquette of this so well, especially with the timing.

yech, i dont drink at work, so i wonder how that would go over. i guess just telling the bartender/waitress to make my drinks virgin?

ok, my thought on this is that you should still spend no more than 2-3 songs with the dude. if he buys you a drink during song 2, i guess stay 2 more songs TOPS. You don't need to finish the drink before asking for a dance, just make a dent in it. maybe a few sips, but if conversation isn't flowing, this will be a problem i could forsee.

The drinks at the last club I worked at were $25. They were in those really tall red funnel like glasses, with umbrella and the whole fancy works. Since the club was nude, alcohol was not served. Some custies would cringe at the price. Who can blame them, I mean $25 for a Coke! Then all we got out of it was $5. When I did get a VIP, I don't want the cashier bugging my client over some lame drink. I want his money to go to me and not to some fancy glass that the custy is going to throw out on the street when he leaves anyway. I would warn the custy that when they ask say "No, thank you". They can give that $25 to me.

Drinks for dancers are free anyway. Sometimes the guy doesn't mind and will buy a drink. That's a plus, because those glasses do make nice collectibles. You can use them as vases too.

That drink/hustle concept is stupid anyway. Why should you be doing the bartenders job? You job is to sell dances not drinks, does the bartender get you dances? I doubt it.

Sass--No idea but I doubt I'm going to be the one to change the clubs' policy.

We get 70 percent of our drinks so that's not too shabby. Probably what I would end up tipping the waitress anyway.

Chrissy--Thanks for the links I don't drink, either, so I just have them virgin my drinks. One guy didn't want to buy me a virgin drink (he was asking too much and I didn't want to lie) so I just let him tip me the amount instead. Thanks for the links again, I'm gonna check these out now.

I should also add that at our club, we get paid hourly of we do not make a certain minimum. I think this is why drink hustle is enforced to pull more money to the bar to cover hourly's. Drink hustles are pretty common in Columbus.

Getting paid hourly sounds good to me. Never worked in club like that. Lucky you. 70% is good, a lot better than $5.

This is a "tiered" drink hustle system. Its another means for dancers to make money off customers for their time, its esspecially tailored to making money off guys who don't want dances, or who want a little warm up introduction before they do. This is considered "paid for" time by the customer, just like the time spent doing private dances are, but usually isn't as lucrative.

They do something similar to that here. Each "drink" really isn't the physical beverage itself, although one (which can be alcoholic, or N/A) is served along with it. The customer pays an amount ranging from $10-100, plus the bar price of the actual beverage. The dancer keeps roughly 75-90% of that $10-100. Assumably, the higher the price, the longer the dancer sits with that customer. (I've personally never bought beyond the minimum $10, so I can't clarify).

I think you have the right idea, but you may want to ask some of the gals at your club approximately how much time you should spend for X amount of money. Some gals here love doing drinks because its easy money (not to mention free booze), and others hate it because its commiting valuable time that they could be using to sell dances. In any case, yes it can't hurt to ask for dances once you're finished. The guys who buy the smaller drinks are probably looking for a warm up anyways.
