Default wearing your money on your sleeve

Hey, so Im interested in knowing what your opinions are on carrying a bag in the club or using a garter to contain your money.

My thinking is it is good to expose your success by wearing your money on your garter and therefor projecting your wealth and attracting more wealth as a result.

But then, some think it is best for others not to know how well youre doing.

    Whats your opinion?

    oh and another question:-

I always get asked if this job is a good earner. Custies always mention the money we make. Whats a good way to brush off the question/conversation and move it onto something we SHOULD be talking about?

Okay, so I wear glasses, cell phone and take different meds at different times and I'm always afriad the girls are going to jack some of them...

... So I've taken to carrying novelty purses. I have like, a collection of purses that are like chinese food boxes, a beatbox, corsets, a bear, so on and so on. Nothing too chintzy but not your average crown royal pouch.

I like it for a few reasons--It stands out more than a regular purse so I never forget it. It's a good conversation piece with the guys. Ohter strippers are always cooing over my purses so it gives me a good foot in with the girls. I put a picture below.

The money thing, I don't know, I haven't seen it actually matter. I wear my money in my garter or nylon until I get off stage and then I rubberband it into my purse. I've tried it both ways, purse and thigh, but haven't seen a significant increase or decrease in tips recieved. I mostly carry 'em to keep from breaking my glasses.

I hate those! You think a girl could afford a decent bag.

I carry my money in a garter I wear around my ankle, I hate it on my thigh.

Lol @ the crown royal bags.

I use a garter because I have left my bag behind on stage. Someone was nice enough to bring it to me. I decided to go back to garters.

    Try this:

Do the whole rubberband your cash around the ankle thing (use pony holders, they won't break) and instead of flashing your hundreds at the top, or whatever, just get a novelty bill (like the dollars with people's faces, or the million dollar bills) and put that on top. You'll never lose a purse, never lose your cash, and it solves the whole flash your cash dilemma.

There's also ways to rubberband lip gloss, lighters, and cigs to your ankle, too.

    Fun times.

I wear my garter around my wrist with the money facing in or if it's huge bills I put it facing out. Never on the leg...

A purse for me is too much. I am trying to get as many lap dances and VIP rooms as possible. A bag and even necklaces get in the way.

I don't like to leave my money anywhere it might get 'picked up'.

As for the guys asking about our earnings, it annoys the hell out of me but they're always gonna do it. I just say something like, "ah I'm not getting rich here but I do alright". And never talk numbers. If they press, I'll just say straight out that I don't ask them what THEY make, so they shouldn't ask me.

I usually use a small purse( I like novelty purses personally..I have one that says "diva" ...one in the shape of a devil head,etc...whatever goes with the outfit) but in my home club we arent allowed to carry purses(one chick got caught with coke...and obviously if we dont carry purses nobody can do coke ever....whatever) so I rubber band it onto my garter.

And numbers...whenever a guy askes me how much I made I tell him " a bit more than your about to give me..." They usually laugh and forget the question

I think you should show off your money UNLESS you have an expensive bag. If a girl is using Prada.. then you know she not only makes money, but she does so CONSISTENTLY... so she's probably good.

But I -hate- showing my money, personally... I don't want people to see it.

Of course you know strip clubs attract some dangerous people. I would never suggest showing money. A dancer once told me of a customer who paid her a lot of money and robbed it from her later. The customer was never seen again. Definitely not trying to scare you but just giving you another perspective.

We don't take tips in our garters in Portland (although some girls, mostly out-of-staters, carry their money in a garter anyway). I have a Hello Kitty purse, and the guys seem to really really like it. 99% of guys don't know what a designer purse looks like, but they all know Hello Kitty, and they're VERY pleased with themselves for knowing.

A purse that glows in the blacklight is hard to miss. Also, I like to throw my money in my locker from time to time, just in case my purse should ever get stolen.

    Garter on the wrist method:
You have to show you are the most expensive. That makes men think you are the s$$$.... You know where you money is, or you better. (It is on your wrist) You put your money down for one drun minute anywhere from NYC TO LV it can get stolen with the quickness. That is when you have to realize that street smarts are very important to have.
    Don't let yourself get robbed.
Good luck. But if you have to do a bag, do a tiny one that connects to your wrist.

I have a small Ralph Lauren purse. Sometimes it comes in handy if a guy is wearing a Polo shirt. I will compliment his shirt and giggle a little and say that we have sometime in common. It helps break the ice a bit...

Everyone at my club has little "stripperpurses." Some get high-quality, some get cute, I really don't think guys care too much unless it's something highly noticeable, or unless it becomes a subject of conversation. I have a little black one with rhinestones that says "New York" & a print... I think it was from target or something cheap... it goes with everything and I'm from NY, so it works for me. I know some girls at the club go for the high end purses (I think it's a waste, but whatever) others put so much superstition on their earnings that they have blamed a new purse for having a bad day!!!!

the main purpose of my purse is to ALWAYS have my $$ by me. no garters... what the hell would you do with it in a lapdance? Unless your club has airdances, I could see money going everywhere & getting lost. Plus I DON't want people to see my earnings, and my club has definitely had theft before.... no way I am leaving money exposed or in the dressing room.

I swear I think we need illustrations for this garter thing. So many girls just don't seem to understand how it works. You strap the money onto it with a ponytail holder - then it's not going ANYwhere. The money doesn't move, no one can see your earnings, and it's surprisingly NOT in the way during lapdances. And it IS the safest place to keep your money - I'm tellin ya it will never get lost or stolen there. I've been doing regular lapdances (ie, LAP, not air ) for YEARS with my money strapped onto a garter on my thigh without one single problem.

You're more likely to have your money stolen when you carry it in a purse, because that's too easy for people to walk away with. Turn your back for a second and it's gone.

But of course, whatever floats yall's boats

I agree with what you're saying about attaching it w/ clip or ponytail holder- I did that when I danced briefly in Chicago, but laps can get a bit rough & I just wouldn't want to take that chance. Purses only go places if you leave them (or entrust them to someone else... never understood that) most of the girls bring theirs to the back of the stage so they have it at all times, and lapdances are private rooms, so no one is there when we set it down.

I'm a fairly agressive dancer, and I've never had my money even come close to coming off my garter during a lapdance. After 11 years I'm well aware how rough a lapdance can get

Just sayin' anyway. I'm not trying to convince anyone that my way is best. Just that the garter thing isn't as risky as some apparently think. From my experience it's the least risky of all.

Again, whatever ya wanna do - it's your money. Just throwing out the options.

yep i wear garter on the thigh with a rubber band around the cash.
we are required to carry our money in our garter we are not supposed to carry bags although i saw a girl with one once.

as for guys asking about what u earn - i get this all the time. they say "so you must earn heaps here?" my reply "only if people are buying dances" *hint hint* hehe turn it into a sell.

I found the easiest thing is to fold the notes down the middle length ways and then in half over the garter and then secure with a rubber band. but then UK money is wider than dollars and dollars are long and thin. I have $85 that someone gave me and sometimes I keep these under a £20 note to make it look like im the shit

keeping it on my leg hasnt been a problem, especially as i can see it right there.

oh jazaine, thats what i usually do

Don't bother with a garter if you're trying to be discreet about your cash.

Take two pony holders, and put them around your ankle. Face all your cash, and then slide the money under the pony holders, on the inside of your ankle, going longways. Fold the money over. Take pony holder # 3 and wrap it around the folded ends of the bills, to keep it from coming unfolded or sliding out. It never goes ANYWHERE. Not to mention that the highly unlikely case of a break will not make you lose your cash, as you have backup bands.

I wear my garter on my thigh with the money right in the front. Always small bills out with a rubber band around it.

I can feel it on my leg and I would notice it come off just the same as if somone pulled my g string off.
