Marasmus ... "Ladies don't fart. They butt-laugh."
Marasmus says, "Oh no, that wasn't gas, it was merely a rectal chuckle."
Marek says, "A friend of mine got punched in the face by a dominatrix stripper about two weeks ago and I thought of you."
It didn't draw attention to the fact that it is in no way the fault of the airport security that some elderly woman put an infant through the detector? I mean, empathy and all (and, yes, I understand that she was an inexperienced flier), but come on. Signs cleared say in spanish and english that people must put metal objects, such as cellphones, pagers and car keys, into bins that go through X-ray machines. Unless the baby had a steel skeleton, I think they pretty much covered that kids do not go in x-ray detectors. The rare incident drew attention to whether officials are staffing often-busy security checkpoints enough to prevent such an accident. And it raised questions about the danger of X-rays used to pick out suspicious metal shapes in passenger bags, given the medical community's warnings that even low amounts of radiation can build up over a lifetime.
As John & Ken said today on KFI (AM 640 in SoCal)...
"The signs were in English and Spanish, but not Stupid. I guess that's another language they should've covered. Now at the airport you gotta have signs in Stupid, too."
English, Spanish, inexperienced flier. Whatever.
Common sense tells you where you should and should not put a baby. If this lady is that dumb, where else has she put the baby? Stashed under the seat like a carry on?
If the child gets cold, does she try to warm it up in the oven? or microwave it for 30 seconds?
Some people amaze me.

wow.. people really amaze me. i have to wonder if she was doing something else, on a cell phone, paying no attention... but yea, that quote yek is pretty on target.
Love it!

This assumes she can read in either language. Illiteracy is far to common.
Still baby through the Xray machine. Stupid. Now where are the parents that are sending this baby on a holiday visit with this stellar grand parent?
