    Default true crime books?

hi anyone like to read true crime? im picky and dont like boring ones that focus just on the forensics or court room drama but ones that read like a story
im reading one now that i can't put down.. A Beautiful Child
mysterious woman found dead.. 10 years later they find out (typical) a tale of horrid abuse and lies.. anyways a very good read

I read true crime. I also, like you, like a storyline.

I read Ann Rule and I thought Helter Skelter by Vincent Bugliosi was a fantastic read.

I'll try the one you're reading.

I read one called My Life Among the Serial Killers.
    It was.... eye opening.

Also going to check out the one you are reading. Thanks!

I prefer books written by profilers & retired detectives...They are very factual & do old-fashioned detective work, not the "Forensics Lab" stuff you see on "CSI" & a bajillion other TV shows....
One of my all-time favorite "true crime" books is "Salt Of The Earth" by Jack Olsen. It's about a woman whose daughter is kidnapped & murdered but it took years to bring her daughter's killer to justice. I don't want to say more or I'll spoil the book...It's worth a read & is available on amazon.com

^^ me too. But i have just a ton here. its all i read. i mean seriously, im sorta sick with it lol

but the one thing I fucking hate is when just "anyone" will write true crime. I have read some seriously awful writing. I have to wonder how the hell they got published

one great author outside of rule is greg olsen

im an anne rule fan too .. i also like how her books will sometimes have 4 stories in one book.. i have a helter skelter i have to see who wrote it . ive just skimmed it so far (looked at the pictures)

a beautiful child is really good.. id give the plot but it kindof gives away the story
    here's the link.. http://www.amazon.com/A-Beautiful-Ch.../dp/042519650X
AFTER you read it do a search on myspace for the girl's name (the Tonya name) someone posted a page for her.. but it will spoil things if you go before reading the book
