Military personal are taught to follow orders no matter what.... most of our military men and women are good honest people so my guess is the original shoot first ask questions order came from the very top ie- Rumefeld and/or GW Bush..... Like most pro Iraq war people ( imho) they are very, very interested in killing as many Muslim people as possible, no matter if they are innocent or not.

Grr... I so want to see those two fuckers tried for what they are clearly guilty of.... war crimes !!!

^ Wow...I actually agree with you on something.

Joe read a book on the whole war...can't remember the name of the book off the top of my head, but it was eye-opening.

Did you know that the first marines to arrive in Iraq and fight were sent a bill for their "portions" of the food rations they used while fighting? Or that there were NO medals of honor given to the men who lost their lives while saving countless others (like the Navy SEAL who threw himself on a bomb to save his brothers).

This war is a fucking joke. Rumsfeld, Bush and their whole cabinet should have been impeached (we impeach a president for getting a blow job, but we don't impeach the one who LIED, cheated and stole...and killed our military personnel and destroyed another country...much less sent that other country running to a terrorist country for help--Iran). Unbelieveable.

As a woman who was married to a Marine from 9/11 all the way up through the Iraq invasion, this war is a lie to the American public. People do not understand that every step a US soldier makes could be his last because there are bombs, enemies with guns, and a million other things out there that could kill them. They are under insane amounts of stress 24/7 and after a certain point it wears on you. The media neglects to mention that part when they report charges against our soldiers. Sometimes it really is kill or be killed.

I love our soldiers so much, but I really hate what Bush has put them in the middle of. Grrrrrrrr.

^ Oh, I totally agree. How do you put men and women in a killing field where they are on edge 24/7...and then get mad when they kill someone? It IS a tragedy...but not because the soldiers killed someone, but because they are there to begin with. This war should never have been started...and now the soldiers are being charged with being soldiers. WTF? Its either a war or its not...but you cannot charge a soldier for being a soldier during a war. If this stuff was going on during peacetime, then charge away...but, c'mon.

edited to add: The book was called "Generation Kill" by Evan Wright. Shocking and sad. Think "Black Hawk Down" only in Iraq.

Venus I have been saying this to people for the longest. I believe the military MM manuel(miltary rule book) need to be redone. I also believe alot people that are in charge need to be tooken out of that postion. I have seen a lot decisions certain officers made, and the people under them have to suffer.

Thank God I'm not the only person with this opinion. This war started on a lie, they lied to the troops and they lied to the public. Our soldiers thought they were going to get WMD, but somehow it has turned into something totally different. They are doing security for a country that doesn't want them there. My husband told me for every 1 person that appreciated the military 'helping' their country, there were 100 that hated us for being there.

We keep pouring money into a losing battle, and our troops keep dying. Every day the news report how many troops died and they take 2 seconds to do so, but when something like this shooting happens it takes all the attention away from that. People don't seem to care about all OUR soldiers that died that day.
