    Default Revlon custom effects....

Has anybody tried it? I just bought two boxes ( on ehighlights, one lowlights) and the brush thingy to put the color on looks kind of scary and complicated. Anyone have any experiences? I do have an old frosting cap that I could maybe use instead i fthe brush thing has caused trouble.

If your hair is long, I don't reccomend frosting caps. Your more likely to unwittingly pull out strands at odd angles and end up with highlights and low lights that start mid shaft rather then at the scalp.

Which kits did you get and what did the directions in the highlighting kit say about how long to leave the decolorizing mix on? My only concern is the toner in the highlighting kit.

If the directions say "leave on for no more than X amount of minutes", I'd be worried. If it tells you what color you need to lift your hair to, something along the lines of, "process highlights until you get a pale yellow/yellow orange/etc tone" then I think the product would be pretty easy to use.

The problem is the toner is pre-selected for you and if your highlights lift to a different color than the toner is meant for, strange things could happen. For instance, let's say you were supposed to let your highlights lift to a reddish hue but you let them process to a pale yellow. If the toner is meant to calm the effects of the red, it most likely has a green base to it. Pale yellow+green=yellow green highlights.

I use that one all the time, it's pretty easy. Way better than those freakin' hair ripping playdoh head hat things.

The highlights I bought were the "Honey" color, and the lowlights were "cinnimon." I still havn't done them yet.... Im still scared, but I've only got a couple more days to go before I'm out of here for a while.
