Thumbs down The cry me a river hustle WTF!!!

Latley since money has been a little tight with the holiday season. More girls in my club are playing the "poor pittiful me" sob story with custys.

For example, "I need to pay my electric bill before it gets shut off"

Or here is a good one that a girl at my club is working,"Im pregnant and I have to strip because my deadbeat boyfriend dosent work and I have no car"

I am so sick of this but whats unbelievable is that it works!!! WTF is that all about. Nobody wants to hear it. I dont know I feel like something needs to be said about this to these girls but really whose to knock theyre hustle. If it works for them then I guess so be it who am I to judge.

So Im wondering do any of you girls do this and why? Just out of curiosity...

Men can get that shit at home from their wives or girlfriends. People should leave their personal problems at home when you come into work.

It works in small doses. Primarily because most guys just want to pay a few bucks to make those types of dancers be quiet. While it may work to sell one dance or two, I doubt you'll ever see a guy take a woman in the VIP room for any extended period of time who is sitting there whining about how her life is a country music song.

Sorry, but I disagree here, I think there are guys that come to stripclubs that have the "white night syndrome" that want to save you, c'mon, we talk about the "white night syndrome" all the time and I think girls like that play on guys that are like that and take advantage of them or actually take their money from them! Just my opinion! I don't do this type of hustle, it's not my style, I'm more of a flirty, straight up type of girl but that's MY target audience, each person has their own tastes and own style.

^^leogirl, I agree, the white knight syndrome is very real and I've seen girls make BANK from it. Some guys actually have that as a fantasy I guess... ;(

geez i try to be bubbly and sexy not needy and sad. wouldn't that sort of talk kill the mood for the poor guy (yes this has got to be the first time ive ever felt sorry for customers).

also i would never use that approach because i believe (and want to portray) that my time and my dance is worth their money I don't want to be a begger - those girls may as well go wash windows at traffic lights or sit on the corner begging.

I sometimes use a similar method...hey, wish I could hang out longer but I've got a really high goal today...most of the time the answer I get is "oh how much more do you need to make today, let me take care of it so you can relax and hang with me."
As for the sad sob stories of desperate need...I think it sucks! On the other hand I know girls that use it time and time again...and the guys keep coming back to save them..uggh.

I think it makes them (the guys) feel important, probably something they lack elsewhere.

You hit the nail right on the head there!!! That's sooo true, men like to feel needed and wanted and many men are intimidated by women that are powerful and that can take care of themself, so a woman that makes a man feel needed, especially financially;they're going to fall for those kind of women. And men like that, there are more out there than we'd like to believe there are. Men's egos are stroked by their financial status and their penis, that's how they feel important, so if a beautiful woman "needs" something and they can "help" them then they feel like a real man. And who knows what these dancers are saying to them after the guy gave them x amount of money for their "power bill", probably something like "OMG, thank you, you saved me, I was soooo afraid that I was going to freeze this winter or I was so afraid that my little girl was going to starve and now I don't have to worry about it, you're such a nice man". Probably something like that, I don't know for sure because like I said before, I don't pull that stunt. I like knowing that I can take care of myself but I think I've seen that some men get intimidated by that because they don't feel needed. Just my opinion.

Well, it's like I said, I can see how this could work on occassion and yet there are so many better ways to groom customers into spending more. I can assure you, that if a dancer were to approach me with all the sob stories, nothing could be a bigger turn-off. I know from most guys that I know or talk to on the matter the same is true for them as well. I agree that the White Knight syndrome is common with many guys in the club, but hearing women whine and complain that their life sucks is not why they come in the clubs.

From a customers perspective, I think a lot of guys get dances from these girls not so much out of the "white knight syndrome" but more so out of pity and even then it's only a dance or two just to basically get rid of them. Kinda sad in my opinion but I guess it must work.

I tend to offer them sympathy (genuine, by the way), but not buy anything because of it. So, if it's a hustle, it fails. If it's someone who needed an ear, then maybe they got something.

But wait, I remember seeing something down in the basement.

    Hang on.

Okay, I could understand if you worked at McDonald's or Wal-mart and couldn't afford to pay your light bill-but to be a dancer and not be able to afford it???? There is something seriously wrong here! Red flag, red flag!! Two words come to mind in this scenario: Drug Addict........

Yeah, a dancer who can't pay the electric bill? Something wrong there.... I'm not likely to respond positively to that hustle... it's a turn off... however, if she were pouting because she just had to have that Coach bag or whatever, different story....

ummmm i see it two ways

As a club owner i try to steer girls ( dancers ,waitress and hostess from the bar ) from playing the hardworking, can't make the bills, single mom angle, cause most girls that do that go about it the wrong way and men find it a turn off and even make the girl make less money.

But as an ex-costumer it all depends on the girl, some come across nice about it, not asking you but just telling you as a matter of fact and you try to help. some girls make it sound like you have to help cause you are guilty and responsible that she is dancing on stage naked for you.

In general the way i see it, men like to take feel they are taking care of chit, and also live in this mental fantasy that maybe in some way by helping you with $$ it may help get close to you for ( SEX ) and if not that a least in may help when you are at home and turn on a light , you might say " I have power cause SO and SO, he is a real man ( Thinking of chit like this help us Jack Off ate home 4real ). Chit like that turn men on. And when we are on, we spend.......

I think it's the difference between asking for charity and selling yourself.

I mean, I've had people who come up to me in parking lots, in wheelchairs or on crutches or something, and just list all the problems they've got in hopes of wringing a buck or two out of me. One lady gave me the trifecta: electric wheelchair, only son in Iraq, really high medical bills that government won't help her with...

I've heard of enough PLs who fall for this sort of sob story and give $k out. But I just can't do it. If your confident enough about what you have to offer, then you won't need to use the sob story to get the $$$.

Nutshell - it would offend my dignity to do this (although I know perfectly well that I've sold a few dances in my career sheerly because customers felt sorry for me, and I did take the money. So...) BUT - what do I care how other girls make their money? It if works for them, it works for them. You can't actually everything the girl says to a customer. "Don't offer sex for money, and don't say anything that might elicit the customer's sympathy".

I also agree with RH - you are not going to get as much money as you would actually making the customer, you know, like you.

HOWEVER - just a side point - I have seen some people on here doing exactly that HERE while they feel perfectly comfortable criticizing girls who do it in the club. Like if it is tacky, surely it is just as tacky to come here and say to the customers "Please help me, I'm in financial trouble and I could really use some extra customers right now" as it is to do it in the club. I don't despise the girl's who do it here - I just think there is a bit of a case of pots calling kettles black.

I work with many who make thier money crying and whining..
    They bank off it..
I never ever could do this, I agree with Lyssa, and go for, I have a goal today, and I need to move on if sitting here isn't going to help me reach it..

We are there to pay our bills, or what ever, I can't ever imagine not being happy and bubblely, and what an entertainer is suppose to be...
We all have days we are stressed out, and or broke, whatever the case may be.
I would always opt to carry on like an entertainer then cry to make money

Hi, if you'll pardon a new guy jumping in, a sob story from someone I otherwise feel good talking to will probably get me to open the WallyT for a dance or two. If the dances are good I'd stay on the couch -- but the next time I come to the club the poor-me dancer won't be my first pick.

Nothing white-knight about it for me. If I like someone I want to help them, pure and simple. But you'll never get me to spend money that I wasn't already planning to spend on lapdances. If you make me feel good about us both rather than bad about your circumstances, then you'll get my money on future club visits as well. But not everybody in this business worries about getting regular custys and making next week's bank as well as today's.

That's the way I think most would look at it..
If she is crying do you leave remembering "what a great time you had"
