I've been taking time off from dancing, and I need to either get back to it soon, or find another job where I can make decent money. (This job would be to supplement my day job wages, until my day job becomes a full-time thing) I've considered bartending, and asked a lot of questions about how to get into the bartending scene in a different thread in this section. Now, I'm wondering if there are any alternatives to dancing.
To be perfectly honest, the reason that I am hesitant about dancing again is because I do not want my family, friends, or coworkers at my day job to find out. I have strict family and I'm sick and tired of lying to them about my job, along with hiding the nice things in my life from them because I don't want them to question how I could have the money for nice things such as a new car, designer furniture, or keeping my debt down so low. I've also started to make contact with a lot of people from my high school(I went to school in a small, narrow-minded town), and it'd be extremely humiliating for them to find out that I'm a dancer! Ditto for the manager at my day job, who has been helping me out a LOT and thinks that I'm a morally sound good girl! Unfortunately, one of the few really lucrative strip clubs in my area is nearby where I live, but only 5mins up the road from my day job!
So, my question to you is, are there any other jobs that could pay decent money? I don't care if it is less money to be stripping...it is to be expected. I only need to make $150/shift to supplement my bills. But "stupid" easy obtainable jobs like retail only pay $50/day. And before you suggest waitressing, I'd like to point out that I tried getting into that before but I had a bad experience, where they pretty much led me on to believe that I would be waitressing, but then just had me do work that resulted in me barely more than I did when I worked retail(I spent so much time at this restaurant job making peanuts, that I had to use my dad's very generous birthday money to me, to pay my regular bills that month!). Yeah I know it takes time to work up to a job, but I didn't go to college and get a job related to my field, to spend time "working up" to being a mere server! Maybe I just had a bad experience with that place and a few others, I don't know. Also, escorting is NOT an option(I am morally opposed to it). Any suggestions would be appreciated.
