So, I finally got the balls to do my hair by myself ( first time since my high school dye crazy days). Here were my results:

I bought the "Honey" highlights, and, they turned out a pale beige.... maybe it would hav elooked good if I'd only put a few.

    Sooo....

    Step two: Lowlights

I used "Cinnimon". I was dissapointed alll the colors had a red tinge to them, but this was the least red, so I bought.

Instead of being the color on the package, it was a deep deep maroon, and not a cinnimony brown. The "Smart toner" which was supposed to go on only where I'd put the lowlights darkened all of my hair instead.

I also ended up with pieces that were overly chunky from the "easy" to use applictor. And, some pieces were blondish near the root, and deep maroon the rest of the 1 1/2 foot down from the applicator being that difficult.

Luckily, I did go lighthanded on where I put the highlights/ lowlights, but the toner turned out to tint all of my hair a bit.

It wasn't gastly looking, but it was bad enogh for the hairdresser who happened to be standing behind me at the gass station to give me her card. I then explained that I'm leaving the country in less than 2 days, and she says, "well, we've got to do something... come by tomarrow at 9." I say I have a doc appt at 9. " she says " I can't let you leave like that, come by at 11, and I'll see what I can do."

Yeah, one step color ok i fyou can find a shade that works for you, but high/ low lights.... let a pro do it if you really don't know what you're doing.
