Oh men are stupid. They all have this "white knight syndrome" where they want to "save" you from stripping as if its a fate worse than death. I mean if they get super annoying you could just be a bitch...tell them you enjoy manipulating stupid men out of their money. haha They might shut up then!

i can't stand this, i mean obviously they are glad that some girls do it coz otherwise why would they be in the place?

we had a few idiots like that in the other night and this other dancer said "are u gonna buy a dance" and he said no and she said "it's rude to come in here and not buy a dance". I wish I had the front that she had heheh.

Ugh. They are fascinated by stereotypes I think and wanna hear, oh I had to escape my pimp and drug addiction somehow. I tell them I love to be naked, and I love to dance. And here I can be paid for it. Its not a lie, either. Haha.

yea, i say almost what pooka says. "oh yes, i COULD do something else for sure, but this job rocks! it's so much fun and i get to be naked and get paid for it! couldn't be better! but i always have my bachelor's degree to fall back on." which shows them that i am smart enough to realize that i can't do this job forEVER (althoguht i will try to) but helps them remember that they can sexualize me and objectify me in their minds.

    Love it!

God I hate this. 'You're too good for this', 'you shouldn't do this' blah blah... I've heard some really retarded questions like "why do you do this? For the money?" Well, duh, yeah of course for the money. Most annoying was one guy who said ruefully, "God, I hope my daughter never has to do this!" Aaaargh!!!

I just tell them "what other job can you look at naked beautiful women all night long and get paid for it?" That always makes them laugh and then they drop it. I've also told them that I used to come to my club as a customer and thought instead I could just work here and get to see naked girls all night long and get paid for it.

Youknow everytime someone goes " im so sick of hearing this and they go on and on"

seriously..all I can say is one thing ..

get up and walk away from that table! I know its harsh to say it . But you wouldnt be bothered by it so much if you just walked away

NOw if they are spending money say champagne room etc and talking shit like that, Just feed em' full of stories. fuck it. I mean honestly they are drunk and just wanting to ramble . They get all sensitive artist on you. Play it up. Its fun in the end, if you just mock people.

It takes the annoyance level out and makes it more a sport with a cash reward at the end.

I occasionally get the "you're too pretty to be working here", which baffles me; I thought guys came to strip clubs to see pretty girls?? Or, "if you were my girlfriend you wouldn't be dancing". LMAO..in your dreams!!!

Hehehe, I definately don't miss that! It they are spending, or I prospect them as spenders, I would sugarcoat the response. Something along the lines of its fun, I'm always horny and like to party, hot naked chicks, etc.....

But if they're wasting your time, just let em have it! Get the frustration off your chest!

In response to the "you're too pretty to work here" line: My friend M--k just read that and said, "But isn't the point of going to a strip club, to see pretty girls? Do they really want to go there and see busted-looking girls?"

And I gotta add my two cents to this thread, too. I absolutely HATE when guys ask me why I strip and imply that I couldn't get a regular job that could cover my bills(one of the reasons why I hate it so much, is because for a while, it had kinda been the truth). What's even worse, is when guys would ask me if dancing was the only thing I did, or if I had another job, school, etc. I would tell them about how I'd gotten my Bachelors degree and enjoyed dancing alongside looking for a job in my field. They would usually respond in a flippant voice, "And now you're here." Usually it was the younger guys who said this...why? Because they were fresh outta college like me, but had better luck in finding a full-time job? Or, because maybe they DON'T have a decent job, and are jealous that someone their age(aka me) is making a lot of money dancing? It could be either one.

Or, when I would tell customers about how I'd just gotten done college, they would say "You mean, you have a math degree and you're HERE? Man I stink at math and so do so many other people I know! You must be really smart. Why are you here?" And then the truth would come out, without me even saying anything at all...that the reason I was at the club, wasn't because I was a career stripper, but because I couldn't yet find a job that would pay my bills. And besides, I don't give off the "career stripper" vibes...for one thing, I'm a shitty salesperson and for another, I'm a bit more down-to-earth than most dancers(I'm trying to work on that). The truth hurts. And I hate it when customers pick on my weaknesses. There is nothing wrong with dancing alongside another job or dancing as a full-time career; however I've realized that it is not a "good fit" for me, so for most of the time that I've been dancing, it has simply been to pay bills and hold me over until a full-time career. So it would aggravate me to no end when customers would pick on this weakness. I wouldn't always show my aggravation, but I definitely felt it on the inside!

"Why are you here?" What do you care?
"Where are you going?" Away from you, d*ck...

SERIOUSLY, it's better to play the dude, as previous posters said.

Ask him, "Did you come here to think? I doubt it! Let's have some fun!"

When custies say this to me, I just look at them and say, "well now if I weren't here...then wouldn't that just make the club full of ugly girls? You don't want to see ugly girls do you??"

    Him:"umm no"
Me: "Ok then, see so that's why i'm here"

i tottaly agree! if they are spending money or i think they would...i just say, yeah "oh i love being naked and dancing - so i figure, this job would be perfect for me! plus i get to meet interesting people and hang out!" u know, i thnk guys wanna think that u like it. i mean it would ruin the fantasy for them if u say u only do it for money, you know? i also say oh 'im sort of an exhibisonist! hehe. i always ran around naked when i was a little girl! hehehe'

and ugh i never get a chance to let out my fustration i shud use this as a chance. i also like what...
Echomadison said, "to manipulate stupid men out of their money" ah , i gotta use that one on some cheap asshole. im not good at telling them right off bat. i have been getting better and telling a cheap guy from a guy who wants to spend, but sometimes its so unpredictable! some guysa in crappy clothes even spend alot of money on me! so its confusing sometimes. but boy, as soon as i KNOW they arent gonna spend money, i try to be rude haha.

I mostly agree with Katrine. If the customers are spending loads in the VIP/champagne room, then I have more patience for the annoying questions. I've also observed that the guys who spend a lot of money, usually ask me those annoying "why are you here" questions outta sincerity. More times than not, the big spenders are the guys who want to lend an ear to hear about me and my situation, and when I tell them about my college degree and my career ambitions, they usually commend me for my ambition. Sometimes they will also tell me that I am "smart" for stripping, because it is a MUCH better way to earn money for bills/tuition/keeping my credit clean, than say working for $7/hr at Wawa(Wawa is a convenience store like a 7-11 or Quik Check). The questions are still kinda annoying, as they serve as a reminder of how I'm not as successful in securing my career as I'd like, but I don't mind as much if they are genuine and spending money.

I've noticed that the guys who tend to ask the "why are you here" question in sarcasm and/or with malicious intents, tend to be the cocky young nonspenders. It is so annoying!!!! I think these cheap young-uns "get off" on making fun of dancers! I don't know why. I would say that it's because they get rejected by women all the time, so mocking a hot stripper is exhiliarating for them; but then again, some of the young-uns are definitely hot enough to get a lot of girls, and they usually make this very blatantly clear. Ugh, I hate people who mock others just for the sake of mockery! Or, people who are close-minded!

One time, my friend "August" went to the champagne room with this guy. He was spending good money, yes, but he spent most of the time there trying to guilt-trip August about stripping. Saying stuff like "You have a Masters degree and 3 other degrees? Why are you still dancing? Don't you ever feel degraded by it?" My friend August is more ballsy than me, so at the end of the champagne room session, she spilled wine on the jerk! But she made sure it was HIS glass, because she didn't want to waste any of her own wine. :p

To the "why are you here, why are you doing this" type questions...my standard answer is "because every other job I've had when I got drunk and naked they fired me"

    I have stock answers.

"You're too pretty to be here!"
"What, you'd rather see naked ugly chicks?"

"If you were MY girlfriend, you wouldn't be stripping."
    <wink, smile> "That's why I'm not your girlfriend!"

    "Why do you do this?"
    "Wouldn't you, if you could?"

Most of the time, they just laugh and it's easy to change the subject.

    hehe.. I say this too....

"Well, before I started working here, I was a receptionist. But I got fired for getting drunk and naked at the xmas party. Now, my former boss is my best customer"

^ they think it' hysterical, and that I'm fun to party w/, so it works well for me.

if they say I'm too pretty to dance, I offer to get them a different, less beautiful girl, or suggest a dive club where none of the girls are hot

^ I think guys just love a confident, slightly bitchy girl, so this also works in my favor.

Yep...it def gives off that "party girl" vibe! And I say it with a slight dumb blonde accent too which makes it better..lol!

I'm cracking up at offering to get an uglier girl....I've done that. I tell them that theres a girl coming in later who is 50 lbs overweight and missing teeth, and ask if they'd rather wait for her...(for the record there is no such girl there so I'm not picking on anyone)...or I ask if they'd rather have their friend dance for them instead if theres more than one guy. They BEG me to stay...lololol

Cameron, I'm excited to meet you in Key West... I think we'll get along great!

I play the ditzy girl too, but I have to really push it, b/c I don't have the blonde hair.....But I love to be the valley girl

(when I say that about the ugly girl, I do have someone in mind..... but I'ld never actually do it..... she's decent, but her belly is always distended.... and she's got fugly celulite and stank breath..... hehe... i'm such a bitch..... )
