Wow... I didn't think it would actually happen so fast! My money's on him finding a way to kill himself, first... and try to make some sort of martyr out of himself.
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.
I just want him gone. Saddam Hussein wasn't even of nobility, he was a thug.
My dad jokes that he looks like Saddam (there's a slight resemblance, but my dad's a really nice guy.) With Saddam gone we can forget all about that. : P
He could always just get a job at a bowling alley.

^Haha! Isn't that from a Jessica Simpson music video or something?![]()

Lord, no! It's from the Cohen Brothers movie, The Big Lebowski.
I friggin' love that movie.
BTW, does anyone else think he looks like Dennis Miller nowadays?

I was jsut at the gym watching CNN and apparently his lawyers just submitted an appeal?
^^ Heh, funny, I was watching the reports this morning on CNN, at my gym too.![]()
I believe you Dottie and you have my support

HOLY CRAP. FOX news just broke over here claiming that Iraq just killed him! Fox says that they will confirm the news as soon as they can. Whoa. He was truly evil.

Heres the latest from CNN. I can't believe they did it so quickly unlike here where they sit around for 20 years on death row eating up tax money watching cable tv in a warm cell with good food. "He deserves to die and I hope he burns in hell... mm mm bitch!"

Boy...you go shopping for ONE evening...come back and a former Iraqi dictator is executed...and you don't even find out until the evening news...jeez...

I really don't know how to feel about this. I believe in the death penalty and swift justice. I know that he committed attrocities against humanity.
But I can't help feeling sick to my stomach after hearing that they were dancing around the body.
I just think that this should be a time of reflection. A time to think about his many victims. Celebrate THEIR lives, don't celebrate HIS death. It's too much attention given to someone who doesn't deserve it. Just let it be and have some closure.
I just feel...weird.
And I hate that we just lost one of our few living presidents and it gets pushed to the wayside over this as well.

Holy... You guys are ON IT! God, I was just about to post on this... thinking I'd be all cool and get in first... But, nooooo!
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.
I feel the same way. My dad's like why aren't you happy like all of your fellow Americans and, I don't know....
He deserved it, to say the least. God, how many people he had killed is sooo disgusting, but, I started to feel kinda bad for him. I know I know...... I'm not really big on capital punishment anyways, but one death compared to the many he caused in his lifetime is kind of a let down for me.
I sort of wanted to pick that brain![]()
May everyone involved in his reign of terror rest in sweet peace now.
PS- I've been looking for the video since eleven eastern so if anyone knows a site.....

That is how I feel too. I oppose capital punishment for several reasons. One reason is that I think it's a waste to kill these people when we could make lab rats out of them instead. Then maybe someday/somehow be able to figure out how to stop horrible crimes BEFORE they happen not just punish people after the fact.
The essential humanity of men can be protected and preserved only where government must answer--not just to the wealthy, not just to those of a particular religion, or a particular race, but to all its people.

From the NYTimes:
At President Bush’s ranch in Crawford, Tex., a White House spokesman, Scott Stanzel, said Mr. Bush had gone to bed before the execution took place and was not awakened. Mr. Bush had received a briefing from his national security adviser Friday afternoon, when he learned the execution would be carried out within hours, Mr. Stanzel said. Asked why Mr. Bush had gone to sleep before hearing the news, he said Mr. Bush “knew that it was going to happen.”
aargh. he can't even stay awake for this?
