Thumbs down Pulled Thigh Muscle! WAAAH!!

So couldn't go to work tonight and didn't even call in since the manager that picks up the phone is really terrible. I'll be moving on to another club unfortunately.

ANYWAY, I'm not going b/c I pulled a thigh muscle and can barely walk on it. I'm so miserable!! I think I'm gonna get crutches from Wal Mart, since I am NOT going to ER over a pulled muscle and am gonna have to wait to see a doctor. Any suggestions?

Eeek, I've done that. What part of your thigh- quad, hamstring, groin? I've pulled hamstring a million times, and ripped my groin muscle once. Ow. Lots of ice should help, and rest it. I never rest my injries enough, and resultingly my groin muscle never healed properly . Don't be like me!

EWwwwwwwwwwww i can just imagine that feeling now. i pulled my calf muscle once. It hurt SO bad. i actually had like a knot of muscle just protruding from my leg,it seriously felt like my muscle was just in a big-ass knot. later i found out that that happens when one tendon slides over the muscle or something but omg totally extruciating! i had to lay in bed 4 3 days so i agree with scarlett. just rest n let it heal, dont go 2 the er or doctor its a waist of money. hes just gonna tell u to rest which is the same advice u got from 2 strippers 4 free!

hey scarlett what do you mean by "my groin never healed properly"? whats wrong with it?? does it make like a popping noise whenevr you take a step!? HAHA JK

Girl, I'm so sorry to hear about that. I looked this up on Web MD:

    What Are the Treatments?
Treatment of both sprains and strains focuses on control of the initial pain and swelling, followed by adequate rest to allow healing.
Most sprains and strains heal in two to three weeks. Doctors routinely prescribe the RICE treatment -- rest, ice, compression and elevation immediately following the injury, along with aspirin or ibuprofen to reduce inflammation and pain. Elastic bandages may then be used to support or immobilize the injured area while it heals, and a sprained ankle or knee often calls for crutches to keep weight off the joint for a day or two. To speed healing, your doctor may also recommend heat or infrared treatments from a physical therapist after the initial swelling is controlled.

I hope you feel better soon!

I'm sure with Web MD they prescribe the longest healing time just to cover their asses. Your's of course will probably be different. Just rest as much as you are able to in the beginning and I'm sure you will come out roses in the end. What I know from spraining my own ankle a couple of years ago is that compression and elevation are KEY. That really helped me. My ankle was swollen long after I went back to work but it didn't hurt and it never has bothered me ever since.

I also recommend the RICE treatment. But It will only take two to three weeks. If it is a deep injury. Other wise you proubarly heal faster. It depends on your body. Everyone heals differant. You sprung a muscle which is differant than springing an ankle. Muscle have more blood supply which allows it to heal faster verses a joint. Are you sure you did not tear the muscle. Well we will not know I guest until you see your regular doc. For know Ice for your injury, See if your doc can recomend some physical therapy afterwards. It might not be a bad Ideal to test your range of motion. To see where your limits.
