Streched out shoes -What can I do?

I just bought a new pair of slides that Im in love with... Ok well I didnt just buy them, they are probably a month old.

I cant wear them anymore. The strap is WAY too streched out. My toes hang over the edge of my shoe like little monkey fingers.

Is there anything I can do?

There are silicone pads you can put in the shoes where the ball of your foot goes. That *might* help.

Not much...if you put them in the freezer the second they warm up from your body heat they'll stretch out again. Your best bet is to take them to a tailor have them cut and re-sewn to fit. This will probably only work for a while though...once you wear them again...if the material stretched once it will again. Best bet is re-buy the shoes in a size that fits better. If your toes hang over they might be to big and the strap wont really help. Good Luck

I second the idea of using pads under the ball of your foot. It works for me.

You're talking about the part over the insole, not an ankle strap, right?

I learned a hard lesson shortly after I started dancing. I bought several pairs of shoes in a size 9 because when I tried them on, they fit. Well, shortly after wearing the shoes, they stretched out and realized I needed to wear a size 8. Although the 8 was slightly tight on me when I first put them on, after they stretched a little, they fit perfectly.

If you don't want to invest in buying a new pair of shoes right away, I have the perfect solution for you! This is by far the most inexpensive way to make your shoes fit better and actually feel much more comfortable for you to wear at work. Instead of using one of those Dr.Scholes inserts I went to a craft store like Michaels or JoAnn Etc. and bought this foam stuff that comes in the form of like a sheet of paper, it comes in several different colors that you can match to your shoes. I cut the foam, measured, etc. to fit on the bottom of the foot part of the shoe and the strap over the toes part. I attached it in place with those double-sided sticky foam tabs. And there you have it! They fit perfectly and they're really soft on your feet! And when you get it in the same color of your shoe, if a little bit of the foam sticks out, nobody will see it. Trust me, this has really saved my feet from dancing and saved me a lot of money!

If you have any questions or don't understand what I mean, feel free to PM me, I could try to take a pic of one of my shoes so you understand what I mean by this.

^^^just what I do. A shoe repair shop will rip up the sole and move the strap, then put the sole back on. I also had them rip out stinky soles and replace them.

That craft foam idea sounds like a good one. But, my shoes are clear.
I guess from now on Ill be buying size 7.
I bought the silicone jell pads. They only helped a bit.
How much does it cost to take them to a shoe maker. Id LOVE to have new insoles. But, if I take them to get fixed, and then they break whyle im at work, and i dont have any clear shoes for the rest of the night! And that would be a waste of money when i could have gone out and got new ones....

I buy small shoes as well b/c my feet are low volume. Even buying small i have to insert a pad when they stretch. I use the very thick pads from the shoe repair guy, they have a suede-like top layer.

i always have a layer of gellins for women in my shoes. i use the clear ones made just for the heal of the shoes and stick them in the toe part. they are clear so they are harder to see and washable so they don't need to be tossed when they smell. i double up on mine since my feet are thin and i have never found a pair of sliders that fit me for more than five seconds.
