    Default Annoying pain

I know no one is a doctor here but maybe you can share your experiences with me. I've been having this pain that sometimes gets so bad it wakes me up. Its just to my right of my left hip bone. It started Friday last week and has been coming and going at least 2-3 times a day. At some times it comes and hurts alot to the point I dont want to move and others its a dull annoying pain like right now. Ive been eating well so my bm are flowing just fine. I just got back on the pill about a week ago but I dont know if that has anything to do with it. Theres no way I could be pregnant b/c Im always safe.

Anyone want to share what this could be? If I should go to the doctor what should I ask them to do? Medical care ain't cheap and I dont them to perfom a bunch of uneeded tests on me.

Is it in the front or back? If it is in the back(towards your spine) it could be the beginnings of sciatica....I get that a lot and it hurts like HELL!!

If it is in the front...thats about where your ovary would be...so the hormones in the new pill are most likely to blame and it will go away when your body gets used to it.

If it is really bad or lasts longer than a few days...get thee to a DR!!!

Can you describe where is located a little more. It sounds like it is comming from your Iliospoas. Or it could be coming from your lower abd. You know we have a lot nerve in that area and futher down. Do you notice it when you do certain things. Dose it affect your dancing? How long have you had this pain? Have you notice it assoicate with anything else? You could have pull a muscle or have some girl promblems.

I dont know how better to describe it as located near my left hip bone and just less than an inch to my right of that.

It affected me during my workout yesterday. I had to get off the machine and sit down because I started to sweat more than regular and felt more than regular tired. I had it since Friday like I said. I hope this is something simple and goes away before the end of the week. I have to hold or push that part in when it starts to hurt. I only try to take tylenol if it gets really bad.

IF it is your bone hurting, this info might help.

I was in the military for a few years and during basic training I developed a stress fracture in my right pubic ramus. The lowest part of the hips in the pubic area.
It was a pain I never felt before. The kind of pain felt by fine bone fracture.
It hurt a lot and came and went. EVEN when not doing anything at all, like sitting reading a magazine.
Running used to aggravate it even more, the pain became more intense.

Maybe you have something similar. A regular x-ray might not show a fine fracture. They did bone scans on me. If it is a stress fracture, or until you find out what is going on, you have to be careful not to make it worse. Avoid impact exercises such as running and steps. Stick to non or low impact like bicycle and elliptical. Don't lift anything too heavy until you find out exactly what it could be. Bones need time their time to heal, if you don't give it time, a stress fracture will take much longer to recede.

    hope this helps

That sounds close what I've been having for a month. It started when I became stressed out My seems to originate from my left labia up to my hip. It's rarely sharp though, more like a numb, period cramp. I've been off birth control for some time. I do think it's my ovary. I hope yours isn't some type of stress fracture. Those take some time to heal.

Well most likely after talking with a few people Ive ruled out its not a hernia, stress fracture or period cramps. I think I strained a muscle there instead. It still hurts and still waking me up at night. It hasnt gotten worse though so Im hoping to get better. Thanks for the input guys.

It sounds like the muscle call iliopsoas. We use it commonly as dancers. When You work this muscle to much and not strecth it you will feel it. This is a muscle that flexs our hips. You can go get a abdominal massage. It will help you take any trigger points out of it, or un shorten that muscle. Another thing you can do try doing a back bend to strecth that muscle after working it. Or a foward cat strecth. I reccomend all dancer take a yoga class. We work a lot muscles and sometimes do not take the time to strecth all of them after dancing.

i was gonna say, sounds like your hip flexor. if you do walking lunges, that can do it... or pushing yoga too far.

my ballet teacher has totally bung hip flexors from a lifetime of ballet...

rest, TM... and failing that, physiotherapy.
