I finally plucked up courage to do my first shift last friday. They club had been shut all christmas week, and it was their first night opening up again. I'm not sure how busy they usually are on fridays, and I'm sure it's nothing like a regular weekend when it's halfway between xmas and newyear.
I've been to clubs regularly with my OH, and I've been pole dancing for 18 months, so I guessed that I would already have a pretty good idea about what I was doing, and it didn't seem to go too badly.
Over the course of the evening there were probably only 15 sets of customers that came in, and only 4 girls on. I probably sat down with most of them. I made £110 after house fees. I had never realised how hard the *talk* part would be. I found there were some uncomfortable silences at some points, but with so few customers, no-one else to go and talk to at the time. Also, I never realised how annoying those guys are who "just come in for a drink"!!!!!!!
I tried to sell the multiple dances, and had 2 guys take it up. However, as we are supposed to collect the money before the dance (and I'm glad) one guy looked through his wallet and had no more money, so didn't get the 2nd dance!
So overall, I think it went quite well for a first night bearing in mind the time of year. I just need to improve or get some tips on my conversation skills!
