    Default Muscle weakness

Omigawd. I haven't really been able to walk properly in a like 3 days since I had a really good night. Several reasons maybe: This new club does couch dances so my knees were at a weird angles during dances. The stage has poles in the back and a long runway so most girls spend all their time doing floorwork, myself included, really working those thighs. Well anyway I've been resting and eating protein but I'm wondering if this weakness/tenderness/tightness could have been exacerbated by walking a long distance in running shoes. Something about the tread in those shoes helps to propel you forward faster on your toes, but if you are walking, heel-to-toe then the quad muscle has to kind of lock in and stop you from falling over. Does this make sense? Too much of a good thing (exercise) and holiday eating-fun caused me to crap out. Anybody ever have similar problems? Foot, ankle or knee related?

    Your muscle could be fatigue.

The reason for muscle weakness are,
    Fatigue,
    lack of nutrients,
not lengthing the muscle after a work out you know strecthing,
Enviroment( like extreme cold or hot enviroment),

I have not had that promblem. But I know a couple of people who run that have that promblem. You should go see a massage therapist that specialize in sports massage. Maybe you just need a tune up.

I usually have good shoes but I'm on vacay in SF and these hills, hit me like a ton of bricks. And it's cold so I just start truckin' away to keep warm...

I will try to massage it but it hurts.
And I think you are right about not stretching right after. But I did stretch after, just not during. I will take more time to do stretchs at work from now on because that calcium buildup or whatever it is starts immediately upon using the muscle.

    Thanks Guys!!

If you just go from exercise to a dead stop with no cool-down inbetween, your muscles are more likely to end up stiff because they're still producing lactic acid to help you continue exercising. Doing cool down stretches helps the muscle to relax after the exercise & basically tells them they can go back to normal (ready to handle everyday activities) and stop producing lactic acid.

I hope I didn't explain that too poorly, lol. Either way, do basic stretches to warm up the muscles before any kind of workout. You would be suprised at how well you'll warm up just by doing stretches...then you can move on to doing your workout, and finish up with more stretches (until your muscles don't feel as tense/tight as they did when you stopped your workout).

You say you just start out by running, which is bad without a warmup. However, if you stretch first, not only is it good for your muscles, but your body will warm up just as fast as it would had you immediately started running.
Thanx so much your advice is invaluable: But I realized whart I did after coming in and watching another girl scale the stars in her heels just fucking POUNDING her feet up on every step. I take easy on the way down for my knees but going UP to get to the stage and floor I am in a different mindset like "go go go" and didn't rwalize that it was the equivalent of scaling 20 flights in these crazy 8 inches...stretching somethings is a mad sexual release for me. The lactic acid coming out feels fucking amazing and I can't help but make noises...
