What percent of your income do you reinvest into the biz, i.e clothes, shoes, makeup, etc?

I don't do a specific percentage. Usually I'll get one new outfit each month ($50-80) and new shoes as needed. New makeup as needed, and if I go shopping and find new colors I like, I'll get them. I don't really plan out each month how much I'll allow myself to spend on things for work- I just get them if I have some extra money.
Take the road less traveled- just make sure you have a map.
As little as possible, but it's still a lot. About $1500 in costumes/outfits, and $3000 in makeup/hair/tanning/anything cosmetic. That's from last years taxes, anyways.

i onyl invest in my body and look: acupuncture, massage, mani/pedicures, hairdresser and buying makeup. my outifts i *barely* replenish, unless there's something wrong with them, so i probably have 10 outfits currently. i am always looking, but i rarely buy.
Love it!

I seem to re-invest into the business in a myriad of ways: costumes (creation and repairs), shoes, my car, domain name registrations, business cards, and so forth.
I always ask myself how I can make my purchases tax deductible or if I will get a decent ROI on the purchase (increase in income, etc) ?

I think the best rule of thumb is what is needed. I splurge on a personal trainer and gym fees. The most I spend per month would be 400. That includes getting my hair retouched, a new outfit, lotion, razors etc. Most of the time its less than that. When it comes down to certain items I ask myself "If I buy this is this going to make me more money?" Most of the time its uneeded.
I have a separate savings for everything emergency and for next months bills. I put all that away and see what I have left for groceries, gas, extra hair products, and little things here and there.
