    Default Tax Problem

Ok I know I'm very unorganized and this is never going to happen again.... on that note.... I'm looking over all my tax info from this year (2006) and am figuring out how much to send in for my last quarterly payment, and I know how much to send in for that. My problem is that I can't find my info on how much I sent in for one of my 3 previous quarterly payments. I wrote down 2 of them, but my 3rd isn't written down, and I can't find my earnings info for that time period either- it isn't with my other info. When I take all my paperwork to my accountant to have her do my taxes, is there any way we'll be able to accurately do my taxes if I'm missing this information? I'm so worried about it now. I don't know where it could be. I sent in a check for all my payments, but I can't find the old checkbook to see how much it was that I sent. Is there any way I can find out?

Call the IRS' 1-800 number it is in the book and it will take a few minutes on hold but they will tell you how much you paid and when you paid. If your tax preparerer is a professional, he or she should be able to access the information electronically via the e-services for professionals.

Photo-copier printers are your friend. They are worth the 300 bucks. I copy checks, 941 coupons, deposits, receipts - you name it!

If you wrote checks for your quarterlies they should be on a bank statement somewhere. If you don't know where your statements are, then you should also run down to Office/Depot/Max and buy a 2 drawer filing cabinet. If if it turns into a sea of loose papers "at least it's in there!"
