Default I want to start out right $$$ wise!

Hi everyone! Im not a dancer yet however i was wondering whats the first step i should take to secure my earnings as a dancer. Like should i register with my company and deposit money into my checking like that (I hoping someone can explain what that means) and should i get a financial advisor now or later. Any information will be helpful thank you.

Im not sure what you mean by register with my company? Ill do my best to offer my 2 cents. SAVE save save save! Have a savings plan for yourself. Biggest mistake I made when I was 18 and first started. The first thing you should establish is an emergency fund including several months of what its costs for you to live.

I only think a financial advisor would be important for people who want to make large investments but thats just me.

Yea - you got to have money before you can have investments. To get money you need to SAVE SAVE SAVE as TigersMilk spells it out! I don't think you will meet any older people of any gender - any job field who will say they saved enough. (Especially in this country with a national negative savings rate.)

Read through previous threads - there are a lot of things from Melonies "three envelope's strategy" to incorporation as an entertainment company.

This is NOT a fecetious comment. If you currently live in NYC, one of the best ways to try and 'keep' more of your future dancing income is to move across the state line to avoid at least part of NY's super high state tax rates - not to mention saving substantially on housing costs as well as general cost of living !

I was reffering to what dancerwealth talked about "filing for incorporation" and liability etc... http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sho...ghlight=permit

I was thinking of consulting a lawyer and/or financial advisor for this to discuss with just to be safe but is it really necessary. I know that the best thing to do is save however i wouldnt want to deposit money into my account and have it taken out either from fraud or something.
