Really, it feels like someone took a baseball bat to it. See, I've been doing this certain splits move down the pole for the last two weeks, and I can't seem to manage to do it without really hitting my left knee cap...I think I hurt it most when I press down on it to get back up. I know the easy answer is to stop doing that move, but it's really the most impressive part of my not-so-very-impressive stage routine. I guess I could roll back and do floor work instead of getting back up...that might work. Any other suggestions? Can you picture what I mean?
And also, I kinda hoped that it would get better and get tough after I did the trick enough (like how bruising stops happening), but I'm starting to think that's not the case. It's all swollen and hot and I limped out into the parking lot. Shit, I'm a masochist.
Any ideas on how to modify the move? Is it possible that it will toughen up and stop hurting, or not so much? And finally- I'm just icing it, and taking Tylenol. Are there any special knee pain remedies out there I should look into? I am suddenly in a world of hurt.
