Default review of dancerwealth home study course

I just wanted to add a review of the home study course. I purchased it about 6 months ago so I'm hoping my memory will serve me well (because I can't for the life of me find that binder with all the stuff in it! There are many useful things about this course, and some not so useful. I think that everyone should know that if your club isn't set up in the traditional "gentlemens club" model (think vip rooms, dj to be tipped, able to buy off going on stage) a lot of the information will not be relevant for you and need to be adapted. I almost wish I had known that before buying the course. (Although I probably still would have bought it.) There's also a lot of other stuff that wasn't relevant to my club, like ways to get the customer to remember you using the cocktail napkins at their table, which my club does not have. Now onto the useful stuff: I really liked the "Myths of dancing" which were common myths I think many of us tell ourselves that can result in a worse attitude on a slow night. I really think everyone should have these myths in their locker to look at. THe most helpful thing about this course was obviously the sales knowledge. I can tell that when I phrase things differently as suggested by the course I hear no a lot less. Also the information about closing sales has helped me a lot, although I definitely haven't tripled my income. I sort of think though, that you could get the information about sales somewhere else and apply it for cheaper, but it is nice to have the dancerwealth course, which is geared specifically for strippers and a little more motivating for us specifically. One other thing: I'm sorry if this girl is on stripperweb and will read this but I found the dancer assistant to the seminar (jaime, I think) to be really annoying. she just sounded really full of herself and it got on my nerves. Maybe I am just a b*tch though, but after awhile it was like be quiet about yourself already. It'd be cool if anyone else wanted to add a review to this. I am off to look for that binder because I'm really irritated I can't find it after I spent the money to buy the course.

Oh yeah, I just wanted to add that after I listened to the course I emailed DW with some questions about how to make some of the stuff more relevant to my club. While he did email me back saying "give me more info and I can help" it took so long that by that time I was pretty irritated, like nevermind. On the course they make it sound like you can email for help anytime and I guess it's true but it may take awhile.

I just got mine last week so I'll do a review too from a newbie's P.O.V.

For newbies (let's say <1 year experience) I think it can be really helpful to help get over the learning hump, where you know what you're doing, but you know that you need to improve in certain areas (closing on maybe's, upselling, etc).

Some of the sales techniques, like get 5 yeses out of a convo, turning the convo more positive, really helped me. I think the course is kind of like an introduction to sales, but it is not the end all be all of strip club sales. It guides you in the right direction towards making these common sales techniques applicable at your job. But you get the feeling after listening that it is just like a beginning, and you still have to do more readings on sales techniques to really get ahead.

My rating: great strip club sales primer.

Girls that have lost motivation and find themselves sitting at the bar bitching about the lack of customers may also find this book helpful to make them look at the stripclub as a workplace again. But there are none of these girls on SW right?

And it has helped me scrape my self confidence off the floor after a couple of really tough work weeks.

Really, I liked Jamie quite a bit. She was very sweet and personable when I met her.

Sounds like you had the same experience as me in the seminar.

I flew to Vegas to take it and im mixed about the seminar. Overall the idea is fantastic, also the ideas are GREAT for a gentlemens club setup, where you can get away with no stage sets, sell half hour vips and negotiate your price. Its geared towards Vegas style clubs. Adam said he was going to work on stuff for girls who work in smaller scale clubs that are more of a party atmosphere.

Im also glad im not the only one who didnt take to Jamie. She rubbed off on me the wrong way... im sure shes a great girl but for some reason I just didnt take to her at all...

This is an open question for anyone who has bought the DW course.....What was the cost charged for the type of course you purchased?

I work in a gentleman type club, and it helped me. I do think it'd be less helpful if we didn't have vips/ or it was a contact club. I like the motivational aspects of it most of all. Great to listen to on the way to work/getting ready, a refresher. I bought it after I was dancing in my current club for 6-8 weeks, so I don't know how much it increased my income, but I feel I got my moneys worth. It is a bit pretentious at times, but so am I... lol. It upped my number of 1st dances, but not repeats. It made me more confident to suggest/pitch the vip rooms, but my success rate is still about the same. However, due to pitching it more often, I do more vips.

re jaime or whoever.....it's been awhile since I listened but, it was the girl who was like blah blah I'm a top earner, blah blah, tee heee hee, custies are like my fav. entertainer is coming back.... she totally sounded like she was probably cool if you were a customer but as a dancer listening to the seminar she really rubbed me the wrong way like she was really REALLY full of herself. (and seriously, I don't want to flame her or something, I'm just saying it was an annoying aspect of the seminar I could have done without.)

oh yeah...I *would* buy it again (BUT I bought it after 2 years of dancing, I wish I had it when I was new, and recomend if for new girls definitely) for the motivational aspects and some of the sales stuff. DW pmed and told me they are going to offer a new addition soon with new information geared to other types of clubs and more info overall and i honestly look forward to it and will purchase the update.

Still debating on if I should get the course... I do quite well for myself, but I know there is always room for improvement. Anyways I'm sure I can use it as a tax write off... right?

When I get my lazy a$$ back to work I'll be back at Hustler so the VIP info would come in handy, but I'd like the updated info as well. I switch-a-roo clubs alot, so I never really know where I'll end up. The "update" comes with the original program, right?

    My review:

I got the home study course about 2 months ago, I have been dancing for about 4 years. I got it because I seem to lose more and more of my dnacing skills the older I get. Its like Im growing out of it, I used to be the top earner at my small club in PA, but out in Vegas, its a whole different game. I did well when I moved out here, but its just gone downhill. I bought this course thinking that it would help motivate me, and also that I coudl learn a few new tools. I liked that the selling strageties are catered to a dancer, as when I read regula selling books, I have to be able to adjust them for my job.

That being said, I didn't learn a whole lot. I listened to all the CD's numerous times, hoping to catch something else I missed. For me, Disk #2 was the best disk, and one I still listen to frequently. It had the bulk of the selling skills on it. And I did learn a few things there. I learned nwe ways to phrase things that I didnt do before. I can't say it has helped increase my income, however, the motivation it has given me has.
I do feel more confidant and motivtaed, and I dont fear rejection as much anymore. At my first club in PA, I didnt have rejection. I coudl stand up in the middle of the room, and just say, OK, whos next? And they would line up for dances. Vegas dont work that way, and I have to get used to rejection out here. The home study course has helped me with that, just by giving me confidance to keep pushing on.
With anything, you take what you need from it, and leave the rest. I got what i was looking for, however, I wish there was more selling skills, more ways to deal with rejection, and more examples of what to say.

I would say I would buy it again, just because the things I did take with me are worth it, but..hustle hut has given me more, for a much smaller price.

If you are a new dancer, or are an old dancer in need of a boost, its worth it. The home study course can pay for itelf in one night.

I will be attending the live seminar in a few weeks, so Im hoping I will learn many new things with that. At the very least, it is still a great confidance booster, and that alone is worth it. It makes me feel more in control of my job and my income.

So overall, Im happy I got it.

I bought the HSC several months ago, and I've been dancing for about 2 years in both gentleman's clubs and hole-in-the-wall clubs. I think you can apply the CONCEPTS Adam is talking about to almost any situation. For instance, you might not have cocktail napkins, but you could think of another way for customers to remember you, right? Maybe keep some rose petals in your purse and leave one for your customer or something.
I have to say that it helped me look at my work more positively and I focused on areas of sales that I was overlooking (couples, upselling to VIPs, multiple dances). I really felt the stuff about open and closed ended questions was useful and I started re-phrasing a lot of things which helped, I think. The biggest thing that helped me was assuming sales.
I saw a little bit of a jump in my income, but not a whole lot. Definitely not $1000 a night. Then again, LA is the worst city for stripping. I'd have to be doing a lot of extras to get that all the time.

I'd like to see how the things I learned would work in a Vegas club.

And I would REALLY like to take a seminar with more advanced sales techniques. Like many of the other girls, I think the current one is best for beginners, but if you've been in the game a while and know your stuff, some more hardcore sales stuff would be perfect for a lot of the SW girls.

I agree with everything you said. I forgot to ad tht I liked the things you pointed out as well.

If you dont have cocktail napkins to use, another thign you can do( I learned this in hustle hut somewhere) Is use a dolalr bill, make an oragami ring out of it to give the customer. That is another way for him to rememebr you. You can always ask him to buy you a drink, and if you need to get up to leave, ask him to watch your drink for you while you are gone. Just make srue not to drink it when you get back! Just say, aww, the ice melted while I was gone, now its all watered down, could I get a fresh one?

in order for a customer to remember you if you need to excuse yourself, you should kiss a napkin and give to him, or you can also fold it into a rose if you know how. Anything to leave behind to keep him thinking of you.

I received mine last month. I am rookie dancer and I have to say, I expected more. It felt to me like I was listening to everyone read out what was on the notebook pages and then stating the obvious and then moving on.

A lot of it is, what I think, common knowledge, but there is also a lot of stuff I didnt know before. I spent the entire day listening to all the discs (which were labeled the wrong way around) and took notes and then went to work the next day without reviewing anything.

I made a lot more money than usual because I was motivated and felt more confident after listening to the discs because I felt I had "ammunition".

I think this course can only get better, but right now, its not the best it can be. It can definately be a lot shorter and more concise. I definately think instead of having to listen to a bunch of people talk (most of them you cant hear what theyre saying), someone in Adam's team should transpose the teleconference into a concise class room text book to sell. Everything that was said could be written down properly into a book insted of having to spend 7hrs listening to it! I fell asleep halfway thru and missed like half a disc.

So that's my 2 cents. The HSC would be far better if written in a text book style than sent as a number of recordings. I felt a lot of the points could have been expanded on in more detail than what they were.

Im glad I bought it tho, but it can definately be improved.

Ah, gotcha. I spend entirely too much time on my lips to waste it on napkins, so that one won't work for me. haha. Plus, once they've met Andy they rarely forget.

After taking a year off dancing I ordered the HSC to sort of get me going again before getting back into it. And I know this is weird, but I think it messed with my hustle a bit, in not a good way.

I was always the top earning day girl at my club (only one of the top when I worked irregular shifts) and I like to think I pretty much had my hustle down, but after listening to the course, if I try to impliment something at work I'll overthink things a bit, I'll hesitate, or do something that doesn't feel natural in the moment, and so most times I don't even try any of it. I know I may be coming off as conceited, but I feel like I was doing 90% of the things on the CD already and overall I haven't seen an improvement in my sales at all.

I did, however, love the technique Adam shared for selling groups - AWESOME. I suppose that technique paid for the price of the course.

Forgot something. I am an experienced dancer (4+ years in the biz), can any of the experienced dancers say they learned at the seminar quite a bit of new and helpful tactics to improve their hustle?
