    Default Death of a regular

i recently found out that a favourite regular of mine passed away. he was a nice guy, who used to come in a lot. it feels weird that he won't be coming in again. it's really sad.

has anyone else ever found out that a favourite customer of theirs passed away? how did you feel about it?

i havn't had this happen to me as yet ... they have "passed away" in a figurative sense in that they are no longer a regular and/or part of my life in some way... however not in the literal sense.. or if it has happened.. i certainly didn't know about it.

If the regular was a recent regular I would feel affected by it. It is only human.

i have had this happen. i went to the funeral, with another girl, who was even closer to him than i was. it was intense. she was a mess, she is a mess in general however, so...

it's tough, it's kind of like that movie sliding doors, except with death. like, if you hadnt been there the first night he came in, he wouldnt have been your regular, and you wouldnt have gotten to know him so well. but you did, and things happen for a reason, so look at it this way: he touched your life, and that alone is beautiful.

    Love it!

*madmaxine wonders where to find a regular good enough to cry over*

    ??????

Never had a customer worth an emotional investment.....

I'm glad you girls had good experiences, though.

I'm sorry or your loss. It kind of sucks when anyone you know dies, let alone a regular. My condolences.

A regular of mine and Izabella's is in the hospital right now awaiting a double lung transplant (after being beaten by the bouncers at another SC in town). We went to visit him the other day, it was sad to see the state he was in.
