I was heavily into figure skating. I had all my doubles and was working on my double axel. The last year I skated I did burn out but stayed in the sport a little longer competing just because that is what I had always done. While I did not leave the sport on the best of terms(I was chased away by a bunch of gossiping parents and rink workers, but that is another story) I still did learn alot on the ice and had a coach who knew what my mother was really like. My coach was like a second mother to me. She always encouraged me. So despite some of the injuries I have now due to the sport I am so glad I was a figure skater for about ten years. I learned so much, and still love the smell of the rink.
So what sport did you do as a kid? Were your experiences good or bad?? When and why did you stop??
