    Default Inducing a Period

    Hi Girls

Ok... most of you will have read, I have not had my period since october 2006... Things are finally getting to me, I am getting severe mood swings, I am crying more, I have heavier boobs (basically all pms but no bleeding)

I have had an ultrasound, blood tests and tons of negative pregnancy tests, I am looking at ways to induce my period! At present I am sitting here and bloating up like a toad

Any way, I am considering taking ECP (Emergency contraceptive pill) to induce my period, but I am unsure if this will work.

    Any help or suggestions?

    Edit to add.

I have never even thought of taking contraception pill before, especially not an emergency contraceptive pill....

I've heard taking The Pill can regulate your cycle, yeah. Or hormone replacement therapy (the same kind they put menopausal women on).

High doses of Vitamic C can bring on your period.

Get the cheapest vit C available (you want it to be just ascorbic acid, no rose hips or time release or anything). Take 500mg/hr until you start bleedin'! (Probably a few days)

It might give you diarreah. Some people might freak out at the idea of superdosing vit C, but 6g a day will not harm you in any way.

Have you talked to an OB/GYN about endometriosis, cysts, or fibroids? I just recently got on birthcontrol to regulate my cycle..I hadn't had a period since June 2006.

Talk with your doc. Progesterone will do the trick. I missed mine for 2 years due to low bodyfat %.

Yeah simular to what Scarlett said but Ive read higher doses - at least 1000mg. The method I know of can be used if your period is only a week late; you also place a bunch of parsley in the vagina for a few hours. Obviously organic parsley is best (-: I assume the week part is to do with pregnancy. If you are absolutly totally sure you arnt pregnant then you could try googling to see if theres more info in relation to not being pregnant.
How tedious for you, hope it comes soon! Did you have your ultrasound today?

(I have been taking 5-20 grammes of vitamin C daily or more sometimes for 15 years now and also sometimes have IV vitamin C drips of 30 grammes at a time, it really wont hurt you!)

There are a few accupressure points you can use. One is between your thumb and index finger, towards the bottom of the "web" of skin there. Another is on the outside of your leg about one hands length above your ankle. Massage them deeply (on both sides) for 5-10 minutes at a time. There are additional points and it works best to use them all at once, but just the leg one (which is Spleen 6, btw) works for most people. If you want to find the rest of them google "forbidden pregnancy points."

    thanks girls,

APS yes I had an ultrasound today, though she assured me nothing was wrong :S

I will be going back to the doctors on friday or monday! I also have taken 6 tablets of vitamin c with 500mg....

I am having slight period pains, however I wonder if this will lead to my period :S

I will try those pressure points now!

Basically I can not physically go to work until I get my perioid as I have a substantial amount of bloating :S

Also, Ii am definitely not pregnant... so god only knows why I dont have my period!

^^^ Ask her for it. Let her know you want to regulate your periods...I'm surprised she didn't advise this sooner..

Progesterone is what your body needs in order to start a menustration cycle. My doc put me on the progesterone pill for about 5 days. Only 1 tiny pill per day. On day 5, I started my period. I then waited about 7 days, and then started the birth control pills and now my cycles are becoming regular.

Depending on your situation you may always need to be on some sort of birth control to keep you "current" with your period cycle.

If I am not on birth control, I will not have a period. Without b/c I would get a period about every 4 months..and when I would get a period, it would last for a MONTH..yup, I'd bleed (heavily) for an entire month!

Also, do you have a general (regular) doctor or an OB/GYN that you've been going to? If you dont' have an OB/GYN I would seriously recommend you get one. And try to find one who specializes in things like endometriosis, cysts, and fibroids. They are usually highly trained and the best at what they do. And can help with any issues you have going on down there.

P.S. I really hope you feel better soon.

Nope..I didn't receive my first period until I was 15. I was diagnosed with endometriosis at 16yrs old, and had my first surgery right before my 17th birthday. Nope, without b/c it's never been normal. It has always been sporadic.

To iduce vaginal bleeding naturally I would suggest drinking Goldenseal which is an herb that you can make into a tea. It's a loose tea but it works.

Wouldnt indcing a period be treating the symptoms, so to speak, instead of finding the underlying issue as to why the periods have stopped in the first place?

Accupuncture. I had wonky periods for awhile, and my accupuncturist fixed me right up. Frees up the energy flow in the body---most ailments, complaints, and diseased are caused by blocked energy pathways in the body.

Get the Golden Seal tea. Go to an organic herb spot. My hippy friends use this method when needed.

That is what i was thinking....Hun you need to find out why you are not getting periods. Even if you have to have several different opinions/doctors.
