    Default Atlantis Chicago

Anyone heard of this? I heard a radio ad that they were now hiring, but I've never heard of this club. I went to the website www.atlantischicago.com and it wasn't really complete and I can't find out where this club will be located. Is this the new club that was supposed to be opened near Midway?? If so, I might be a little weary about it, b/c I read in the Daily Southtown that some of the owners are the same people that own Club O.

Anyways.....I'm wondering if anyone else has the scoop on this place.

    Edit:
Strange .....this is from their website:
Atlantis Gentlemen’s Club, Chicagolands newest, most elegant and sophisticated adult entertainment facility is seeking highly qualified individuals for the following positions

    - Bartenders
    - Servers
    - Floor hosts
    - Cashiers
    - Shot girls
    - Valet
    - DJ’s

Anyone else find it weird that they aren't looking for dancers (at least not on their list)?

I've found out that this club will be in Ford Heights, IL. For those who don't know, it's is a VERY economically depressed south suburb of Chicago. I'd venture to say it's not very safe either.

There's another club that will be opening near Midway Airport. I'm not sure of the name of that one, but they're hoping to be opened by the summer. I was hoping this was the club, but apparently not.

Why would the club owners open a new club there? The general area has plenty of clubs already, and Ford Heights is the worst choice if I had to pick between that, Harvey or Chicago Heights (i.e. Club O, Skybox, Club 390, Cowboys, Jimmy's and whatever else I'm forgetting).

I hope they have good security for the girls walking to their cars at the end of the night. You're talking about a town where the median home value is only $46K (compared to $127K in IL and $111K in the US) and the median HOUSEHOLD income is only $17K (compared to $47K in IL and $42K in the US) (Courtesy of the 2000 Census data).

I don't have the crime stats, but I would be afraid someone would try to rob me at the end of the night, or try to follow me home to rob me elsewhere. Maybe I'm just being negative or paranoid, but I don't think it sounds like a good business venture for the owners.

A "swanky" club in Ford Heights? Bwahahahahaahaha...it's like a mini Cabrini Green there (well, before CG was cleared out for multi-million dollar townhomes). So, I guess it's more like a mini Robert Taylor area...without the high rises.

Maybe they mean that you'll be in such fear of your life just to get to the club, that once you get there, you won't care what the fuck it looks like!!

I came across this .....I'm sure you'll find it interesting (to those who know the area)

"Poorest of suburbs welcomes 'palace' for exotic dancers"
    http://www.dailysouthtown.com/news/1...81NWS3.article

...."It is a palace," Ford Heights Mayor Saul Beck said. "This is the way it is supposed to be. It won't be a truckers' paradise. It is going to be a clean operation."

Beck said he could not recall the name of the developers who won the village's permission to build.

"You never know who owns anything anymore," he said......

(Wow, no wonder Ford Heights is such a lovely place ....the mayor in a town of a couple thousand people doesn't even know who won the right to build there?! Glad to know he's on top of things)

Also from the article in the Daily Southtown newspaper:
"With nearly half its population unemployed, Ford Heights is known as one of the country's poorest communities. .... The mayor said he has no qualms putting down the welcome mat for what he called the country's No. 1 industry. "We have got no jobs," Beck said. "We have got no industry giving out any jobs."

I heard about this club on the radio. I wanted to see it. I wonder how the inside will look, since they name it Atlantis.

agh! i was wondering if it was going to be where scarllets is since it was shut down . guess not.

Im also guessing that the reason they aren't mentioning needing dancers yet is because the liquor license is still pending for that .

EVen if they try and make it the vips of the south side, its going to have to fight an uphill battle. People do not venture into that area, other than to live or to cause issues.

Eventually they will attract all the girls and drug dealers they dont want. Because it happens in every club but more so in areas that are already filled with it.

however, I wont hate on it. Because at least it offers up a new place for some women to work and be employed. It may not be in the best area, but it will be a gateway for women who need a way out to be able to fund it. Or to support their kids.

Im all pro anything until it shows to be harmful. Lets hope for the best.

I agree .....Good for them if they can make it work. But, I personally would not be comfortable working in that area in ANY position they have open.

I agree with Tart all the way about the club being an opportunity for women. My 1st club was in the ghetto...& it's still open & making money!

Can't the owners "encourage" cops to be more aggressive about policing the area to prevent pimps & dealers?...My club in Puerto Rico gave free beer to cops if they wouldn drop in & make themselves known (LOL Yeah, cops drinking on the job.)

Most clubs pay off cops so Im sure they will to some degree considering how much the mayor is into it.

But I've been told that PT's bought Scarletts and that's what's really going on. All I know is that we got a rush around 3 weeks ago of some skanky ass broads. And when I say skanky, Im referring to the anal fingering, coke doing in the bathroom type. they all came from there.

So god only knows what that place was like.

I disagree with the comment about the girls from scarletts going over to VIP's. We only had about 14 girls on staff and i don't know of any girls going over there. Also we didn't have girls who did drugs. And scarletts was the cleanest club in chicago considering it was no money there to buy drugs.
