Default Cheek implants - anyone have them?

Last year I had my chin done. I was very recessed, and the results are amazing. No one even knows I have it until I tell them. It changed my whole face for the better and I was back to normal within 4 days, swelling was gone within a month. I'm going back to get cheek implants and was wondering if anyone else has had this done and if they had any before/after pics. My midface has NO fullness whatsoever, I have very little defined soft OR hard tissue and I always look gaunt and tired. I'm getting a combined submalar shell, which will define my cheekbones AND the area that extends from your cheekbones to under your eyes. Before anyone says anything, I'm not interested in having micro-fat grafting, as that adds to your SOFT tissue, and I'm lacking in HARD tissue needed to build soft tissue upon, NOR am I interested in buccal fat pad extraction, because my face isn't chubby at all. I LACK BONE STRUCTURE.That and microfat grafting is TEMPORARY, the results are usually gone within 5 years because fat that has been broken down won't stay where you put it, and buccal fat pad extraction makes you look like the Crypt Keeper when you're older.

I would love to see pics, hear stories, etc from anyone who has had this done.

(Please, I don't want anyone to make comments about how I shouldn't be getting plastic surgery or how cheek implants make you look like Michael Jackson or how I'm going to get an infection, blah blah blah. Yes, I'm just doing it for my looks and personal satisfaction, not a medical condition, but I'm here for info, not to be judged. I have the money, time, and I've done my research. I'm making my decision as an informed adult and don't care for anyone to try and dissuade me).

I will probably look into it when I get older when my face starts to get sunken in and sullen. I saw this plastic surgery show (forget which one, I watch so many) where this 40-something woman got custom cheek implants and it made her look like she had a face lift without the pulled tight look.

I know, not what you're looking for....just saying.

Imo micro-fat transfer looks sooo much more natural than an implant. You also don't have to worry about your body rejecting the implant or mis-placement because with micro-fat transfer you are using your own fat... and yet it look great.

You could also go for a Buccal fat pad extraction... which gives the apperance of High, prominent cheekbones.

I will try to find some pics for ya.

I know exactly the show and the doctor who does custom implants, Dr. William Binder from California! I want to get custom jaw/chin implants so I have a super defined jawline and because I have these strange hollows on the corner of my jaw that not even my surgeon has ever seen. You can't notice them until I point them out, but they bug me. In fact, Dr. Binder designs implants for Implantech, and the one I'm getting is the Binder Combined Submalar shell. My surgeon is friends with him and he had Dr. Binder CALL ME to talk to me about doing custom implants. It's going to be around $25,000 for custom chin/jaw implants! It'll be my reward for finishing grad school (someday!).

But yea, I'm 23 and I have NO cheekbones and my midface is hollow I look pissed and tired all the time. I'll throw down three grand to fix that ASAP!

Did you see where I said I didn't want fat grafting? It's TEMPORARY. It doesn't last. I have a BONE defiency, not a soft tissue deficiency.

I've had a facial implant and I know rejection is RARE. If you choose an appropriate implant, it can look totally natural, LIKE MY CHIN.

I don't have any cheekbones to define with buccal fat extraction. I wouldn't get that done if I did anyways because it'll look good now, but you need that fat to keep your face soft when you're older. Every surgeon I've talked to says that buccal fat extraction makes you look like the Crypt Keeper by the time you're 50.

I NEED TO IMITATE BONE STRUCTURE. NOT INTERESTED IN BUCCAL FAT EXTRACTION OR MICRO FAT GRAFTING.

I think it could look great! $25k though is a hefty tag to pay. I want to get my jaw fixed, its hugely asymetrical on either side. It got that way at puberty, my mom has dental conspiracy theories. But that's neither here nor there.

I know that Gynger was in a lot of pain when she had her jaw re-wired. I can imagine cheek implants would hurt like a motherfucker. Nose surgery did. Sorry, this isn't relavant information to you. But I think it could look terrific for you, high cheekbones are very desirable and most of us aren't lucky enough to have them naturally.

I knew everyone would suggest buccal fat pad extraction and micro-fat grafting, because everyone is convinced cheek implants ALWAYS look unnatural and horrible.

I had a septoplasty when I was 19, and yes it sucked, but I lived and was surfing within a week. My chin implant wasn't bad at all, either! Basically, my face sucks.

Who did your chin implant and how expensive is that? It's something I've considered but I don't want to look "fake".

Sorry the only person I knew with cheek implants had to have them removed after five years due to a staph infection (know that's not what you wanted to hear). But she had all kinds of issues with her jaws and TMJ so it might have been a contributing factor. The pics I saw of her with them in looked good though.

btw, looking at your pic your face doesn't look like it sucks at all!

A friend of mine has had her cheeks done, but it's difficult for me to tell the difference.

Thanks! I'm cute from the front, but in profile my chin used to be too small (still kind of is), my midface is flat, and my nose projects too much in profile. No big deal! Easily fixed.

Dr. Clifford Clark in Orlando did it. Chin implants are easy and inexpensive. It was about $2,500 total. It looks totally natural and was a DRAMATIC change to my face. Now, custom implants ARE expensive because very few surgeons do them, and they actually have to make the implants themselves.
