Default In the eyes of a n00b...

Okay, so I have been around here for awhile but now it seems the time has come. I'm planning in a month to finally get my ass up (I need to tone up, and lose some more weight) and become a dancer. I've danced my ass off these last few weeks (literally, lost a little weight ), and am feeling pretty damn good about myself. There are so many things I want to have (like pay for college so my parents don't have to help me a lot). I think I've learned that stripping isn't as easy as the general public thinks it is, and it's not a slack off job (although some take it as that, as any other job) either.

I have a ton of questions, but unfortunately the search isn't working for me right now. I'm not sure if some of them have been anwsered, but if they have been it'd be great if someone could give me the link (if it's not too much trouble).

    1. Is Mulatto Kittyn a suitable stage name? I'm a halfrican, half black, half white. I've used it as screennames for other internet sites in the past and it's just kind of stuck with me (At least the kitten part). The only problem is I'm guessing there are probably a lot of "Kittens" out there, so maybe adding mulatto in front might help? Not sure if a lot of people know what "mulatto" means (half black, half white) or if they'd be offended by it (Apparently some older blacks take it as offensive or so I have been told).

    2. What if a customer asks about boyfriend status?

    3. 6 inch heels okay? (I'm already 5'8 lol)

    4. Is it okay to go to an audtion or amatuer night with a friend? I have heard it's not a good idea, but only in accordance for two black dancers going together to audition. I am exotic looking, while my friend is white and British...would that be okay or is that a no-no?

    5. Is this a good first outfit? Don't want to be looking tackalicious. Tell me what you think.

I kind of want to start out at a small club, because lord knows I'll need some practice before trying to do anything more so.

Ok personally I dont care much for the name mulatto kittyn as a stage name...for chat and stuff online it is fine but as for dancing I dont know. I would just go with Kitten, its sexy and not offensive. I am not saying that mulatto kittyn would be offensive but you never know, it seems to just call uneeded attention to the fact that you are mixed. It would be like a dancer going going by nubian queen or ivory goddess...it just sounds kinda silly IMHO.

About the boyfriend thing. I have a b/f but I dont tell customers that I do, unless it seems to not matter. Older, married guys who understand the game-I have a b/f...younger guys I dont have a b/f. I go by the good ol' coyote ugly rule "Always appear available but never really *be* available"...

6 inch heels are fine, really any heels are fine its just a matter of preference. I guarantee that once you have danced for a couple months you will be trading up to some taller ones! The short ones I cal "beginner stripper shoes", because most new girls start out wearing the shortest stripper heels they can find, then trade up once they get comfortable. I know I did! Tall heels for me are like an addiction, the taller the better!

When it comes to auditioning, I have always gone with a friend because its always when I am out traveling and I am with friends. Its never hurt my audition but then again my friends are hot so that helps! (not saying yours arent) But yeah as long as she is cute, I dont see why it would matter...the worst that can happen is one of you will get hired while the other wont.

That outfit seems cute to me, but it all depends on what kind of club you are going to audition at. I have never worked at a gown club but I dont know if that type of outfit would fly at a super upscale place. If you are just working at a regular club, that outfit will be perfect! I wouldnt recommend *using* the garter things because that can be a pain in the ass on stage to undo a garter belt from your stockings, I have seen girls struggling with it! haha

Well I hope this has helped and good luck!

Uh yeah, "mulatto kitten" is bad idea. "Mulatto" is a horribly outdated word...like "octaroon" (meaning 1/4 black)who wants to be one? I'm biracial too, but would never refer to myself as mulatto. "Kitten" is ok, but everyone will ask, "no really, whats your real name..." that gets annoying. I think its always best to have a "real girl" stage name, like Gina or Michelle.

Go to the club where you want to audition at and see what the gals are wearing. a simple halter or tube dress will do fine, you dont need many bells and whistles. the quicker you can take it off, the quicker you put it back on and get to another customer and his money.
shoes? just use the tallest heels you got, then get some stripper ones later if you want.
I'm getting my Dial-A-Stripper service up and running again. If you are in NYC or NJ and are interested in private party dancing, email [email protected] with your SW handle, contact info, photo (if you have one) & best time to call and I'll get back to you asap.

If you're having a party and need strippers, email me with the details and any questions you have. Thanks!

yeaaa I'm so happy you've finally decided to walk towards the light lol. I agree w/ the above..dont use the name Mulatto Kitten. Some dancers have exotic sounding names, others have real names, some have seasonal/festive names, and then some have playful or tomboyish names. I think it really depends on what persona you want to be in the club.

For example..if you're miss prim and proper as a stripper wearin rhinestone chokers and stunning gowns..you're not gonna want your stripper name to be Joey, or Shane or anything like that ya know...That's just my opin though.

Good luck at whatever you decide to do though. Oh, and make sure your makeup is tight and hair is right!!!

    1. ~No, dont use that name. Its like naming yourself Whitey Cracker if you are caucasian. Its just a no. No No No. Its degrading and not cool - know what I mean? I am half black, 1/4 white and 1/4 filipino so being semi like you I think you can get away with an exotic name. Whatever you choose make it easy to pronounce and hear b/c youll be yelling it over the loud music every night.

    2. What if a customer asks about boyfriend status?
~I tell customers Im dating. So they think they have a chance and think Im desirable. I feel if I say that its more believable to me. Also its something I can remember if they ever ask again.

    3. 6 inch heels okay? (I'm already 5'8 lol)
~Those are fine. If you feel insecure being tall or short adjust height.

    4. Is it okay to go to an audtion or amatuer night with a friend?
~No, dont go with another girl. Sometimes they might like both of you but can only hire one and chose none of you. You have a better chance of getting hired if you are alone.

    5. Is this a good first outfit? Don't want to be looking tackalicious. Tell me what you think.

I agree with everyone who says lose the first half of the name. Can't go wrong with kitten though.

I'm 5'9" and am currently dancing in 4" heels. I'm sure the beginers factor is coming into play here. I think all the other gals at my club are in 6-8" heels. Your height shouldn't be a factor in how high your heel goes. The men seem to love us amazon women!

That outfit is adoreable, go for it.

dammit! why didn't i see this post *before* i made that my 2007 stage name. back to chrissy i go... and cracker was starting to really sink in as *me*.

    as for boyfriend status?
I don't have one right now... i'm too wild to be held down by one guy.

everyone is tall as shit. don't worry. 5-6 inchers are great for your long legs

go alone, or with a non-auditioning friend for moral support. what TM said is right about chances of being hired then.

    Love it!

Well, now that I think about it maybe some mystery about my ethnicity isn't a bad thing, I get white and black, Latina, Hawaiin, and a bunch of other stuff I'd never even think about.

So...Hmm, Kitten I like, but I think some of you are right about it being pretty typical. I'll have to go back to the drawing board on that one.
