Why??
I don't think he's an asshole-- it's two great roles and lucas is working on BOTH films. It sounded like Lucas was fine either way, and by offering him the hans solo role, it just made Ford MORE willing to do the Indiana Jones roll.
I mean...I guess he could do both, maybe, but that would be grueling and would suck. It sounds like it's more the directors faults for not shooting the movies one AFTER the other, not both at the same time.

i dont know, i would prefer Star Wars to Indiana Jones, but that's just me..
Love it!
I'd much rather see another Indiana Jones movie than another Star Wars.

Why the hell is he an asshole for wanting to have a little choice in what kind of roles he wants? He's fucking rich, he can afford to be picky.
I see nothing wrong with this whatsoever.

OMG, are you implying that Han wasn't lovable?!?!?!
Well, the problem is that Harrison Ford HATES his role as HAN SOLO. He HATED it. Same with the gentleman who played the original Obi Wan Kenobi.
Han has expressed many times that he will never sign, endorse, re-act, interview for, answer questions for, or EVER REFER to anything involving that role again.
Though it's extreme, his commentary is that he hates the fact that his early work that he is embarrassed about will never be forgotten. THOUGH he was sooo happy about his success, he just feels that he will ONLY be known for that role. Which he admits to BARELY CARING ABOUT when he did it. He never thought it would go anywhere so he just didn't care. The whole thing annoyed him.
He loves and respects George Lucas for Indiana Jones because he felt that it was who he WANTED Han Solo to be and thusly his favorite role. This is a no brainer to me.
I mean, I feel bad that he feels that way, but I saw it coming. He wants to be remembered for Indy. Not Han.

Harrison Ford is an Asshole?
You mean Harrison Ford who got up from his table, saved a person who was choking by perform the Heimlich manuever, Harrison Ford? The Same harrison Ford that after seeing that the person was ok; bought his meal and everyone elses at the table too.
That Harrison Ford?

I curious and reading the article all the way through I got this Karmic 2X4.
19 years since Indy and the Last Crusade. If you had asked me I would have said it was only 6-7 years old.
Well that makes me feel OLD. Shit.
Now I am gonna go watch some Anime and sulk.........
lunchbox: Han was Lucas' character. Harrison had no control over it, and Han called him a bad director on MANY occasions. Indy is more Han's influence than anyones and more controlled by Harrison. Lucas saw that as part of it's success.

I'm a HUGE Star Wars fan. Always have been. I remember seeing Star Wars with my father when I was a kid and I can still hear that thunderous Fox Fanfare starting the movie like it was yesterday. When Raiders of the Lost Ark came out, I was 10 years old and I remember my father telling me about how the guy who played Han Solo was making his own movie. WHAT? No way! That dude was Han Solo in my mind and that was hard to shake. My father, being the cool guy that he is, had a gut feeling Raiders was going to be good so he took me on opening night. To this day, Raiders tops my list of favorite movies bar none. They actually have been tossing script ideas around for Indy 4 for quite some time now...several years in fact so this is really nothing newsworthy other than the fact that they are actually taking some action to get the project really moving. I'm stoked about it!

You guys don't get it, I was Han Solo when we played Star Wars.
Fuck Indy, it was the dogs name.
No, I'm not done with my tantrum.

/me stamps his feet
I don't have a thing for old guys, but Harrison Ford's character in Indiana Jones cements my lust for all time. Yup-- I'd do him when he was eighty.
Same with Sean Connery. Gosh! What a threesome that would be --wonders off into lala land--

i've had it with harrison ford. he was utterly superb back in the day when he actually opened his mouth to form words.
these days when he interviews, or stars in movies, i can't hear a fucking thing he's saying. for that reason, ol' mumble should probably give up acting.
why should infamy allow you to make more movies where the viewers can't understand a word you're saying. i stopped the last DVD after about 15 minutes of his incoherent mumble mumble.
i loved him once. *sniff*

I discussed this with my Rabid Star Wars Fan boyfriend and we agree.... yay for more Indy. Yes, Harrison hated his role as Han. And even beyond that. SW got its 6 movie run.... and it got it's revival. It's Indy's turn!![]()

I don't know what the fake journal is about. Here is something else. I forgot he is a Pilot too.
The choking incident is from a decade ago. I wanna say a posh resturaunt in HollyWierd. Time or Newsweek ran the story. Probably to old for the mighty Net.

Star Wars IMO would be by far a better choice for him. Indy? Come one he's old, he wont be able to do any of the stunts etc. All he will do is close ups and things like that. In Star Wars all he has to do is point an blaster and tell everyone it's not his falt! It's to bad he feels the way he does. If it was not for Star Wars we would be like Harrison who? Did his grandpa invent the Ford car/truck company?

There are only three Star Wars movies; everything else is a desecration to the epic trilogy.
Plus, what Mast said about Ford's attitude. Twice.
That is all.
