I do not think the Dutch are doing a bad thing. A woman making the decision to be a prostitute is one thing but a woman who is forced into prostitution by threats or actual violence is another. It is deplorable because in essences she is being raped everyday and probably several times a day. It is just wrong. By preventing sex workers from having to burrow from loan sharks you are taking away a means of control that organized crime has on the girls.

I visited Spain this summer where prostitution is legal and there are brothels everywhere. From what I heard the girls are from South and Central America and from Eastern Europe. I wondered did the girls choose this profession, which I am fine with, or have they been forced into it. For a while I thought it would be a great business to organize spring break trips for College guys to go to Spain with the highlight of visiting brothels. But then apart from likely being highly illegal, I thought wouldn’t I just be perpetuating some poor girls misery? Too much moral ambiguity for me to take part in. If some one reads this feel free to use my idea but please let me know how the idea turns out.

As for the hand job money, yes you have to report all income to the IRS whether illegal or not. Supposedly, they do not share this information with law enforcement. Some states like Tennessee require drug dealers to buy tax stamps for their products. If they do not the drug dealers are subject to civil fines for not paying the tax. Once again, the Tennessee tax officials do not share information with law enforcement.

^^^ well, consider the full legal ramifications of your position on Holland re prostitution.

Germany has legalized prostitution. Germany also has unemployed females seeking unemployment benefit payments from the gov't. A major brouhaha erupted in the German courts over this issue because ...

... the German gov't was of the opinion that, as a newly 100% legalized 'job', prostitution no longer carried any special criteria that working as a prostitute was any different from a legal standpoint than working as a sales clerk or working in a factory. Similarly, owners of houses of prostitution were now required to pay into German gov't unemployment benefit programs the same as German store owners or German factory owners. German prostitutes also now received unemployment benefits from the gov't.

... the owner of a German house of prostitution took advantage of the fact that he was now required to pay into the German gov't system, and posted job vacancies for prostitutes at the local unemployment office in the same manner that a German store owner or German factory owner was entitled to do.

... when some German girls working as store clerks or factory workers were laid off, they went to the German unemployment office to sign up for unemployment checks.

... the German unemployment offices referred these girls to the German house of prostitution that had posted vacant job positions. The girls informed the unemployment office that they refused to consider working as prostitutes

... since the German unemployment office interpreted this decision on the part of the unemployed store clerks and factory workers as a wilful refusal to accept an available 100% legal job, they were refused payment of unemployment benefits

--- eventually the German gov't relented from this position after the media had a field day with it to the embarrassment of gov't officials, and made a policy exception in the case of unemployment benefit eligibility vs open positions for prostitutes. However the legal point still remains valid. A closely related situation was a laid off German telephone receptionist who WAS forced to take an open position as a phone sex operator or risk losing her unemployment benefits.

^^^ Ah... the wonderful world of liberalism. One could never be forced into prostitution in such a Utopia.
