Default Should i try to audition now or wait.. please help

I posted this b4 with a different title and it got moved to body section.. i think b/c the title looked like i wanted advise on stretch marks & losing weight but i would like opinions on weather i should go now or wait.. and you girls would know better than i since you already work in the industry thanx in advance

Ok i want to go audition at a couple places.. im debating on waiting or going soon.. also debating on nude or topless please help give me honest opinions ( i wont be offended i will feel you are being helpful) i am 5'2 145lbs so a little overweight im still working on it.. i started at 183 in march 2006 and took a excersise break june-nov in nov i was 166 now 145 the main concern i have is i have these stretch marks some kinda wide and long real low like right above my pubic area and small ones going up to my belly button they are all white blend in with my skin but still visible and some look a little wrinkly if that makes sense. also like 3 on each hip and then some light vertical ones like where my lower back and top of my butt meet.. Also i have had a laporoscopic surgery in 2001 and there is a scar from that that is small but makes like a dent on my lower ab. I know a tummy tuck would take care of the belly ones but i dont have money for that. Does anyone know if these bigger ones shrink as you lose more weight or do they get more wrinkly or what? im concerned about it if anyone knows please let me know.. are there dancers that have stretch marks like this or is just a few ok? My measurements now are 32, 29, 40 my thighs 24" at the thickest part and my calves 15" they have always been kinda big even when i was thin.. i tend to have alot of muscle here like when i flex my leg i have a muscle lump.. makes so its hard to wear certain boots does anyone else have this prob? and is there a way to tone this down? Please any info and opinions appreciated

it depends on what type of club ur trying to get into. ud prob have a hard time`getting in to an upscale`club at that weight but if u post some pics of urself we could give u better advice.without seeing what u look like, id personnally suggest dropping another 15 -20 pounds before auditioning

just go audition and see what happens. if they say no then go back when you are thin and feeling more confident. If you think you look good then go for it, but it seems that you dont have much confidence, so you should work on that. If being thinner would make you more confident then wait, but it doesnt hurt to still check out the clubs. Up the cardio baby so you can start dropping more

Without seeing u it's very difficult to advise because people carry their weight differently so while one person might look hot at that weight and height another might need to loose a bit of weight.

As for the stretch marks - DO NOT EVEN WORRY ABOUT THIS AT ALL.
While I don't have any myself I would say the majority of the dancers that I work with (and a lot of women generally) have a few stretch marks. You cannot see stretch marks at all under the lighting at a SC. Also most of us use fake tan bronzer (temporary stuff not as in the tanning product) such as the sally hansen airbrush legs and it makes ANYONES skin look perfect - try it if u don't believe me.

Another thing to remember is that men like women of all shapes and sizes and this is reflected at the SC where there will be all sorts of different looking dancers. Some customers might find you the hottest dancer in the place.

Just audition and see how you go. If you get the job you will definately start to loose weight as dancing is very physical.
    Good luck xoxoxo.

honey honey- strech marks. i thought i would never be able to be a dancer because of this. at the biggest i got i weighed 135 and i'm 5'1 (i now weigh 103) but i have really short legs and the weight distributed horribly. it was all in my butt and legs- i have strech marks on my butt, hips, inner thigh, and in my opinion the worst (where the back of my legs meets my booty) i just slap on some makeup and am just fine (the lighting in the club i work in is pretty dark) and i get told i have "beautiful skin" -there are also some other girls that work there with them. One thing that could help- go to the tanning bed. mine started out being purple and now are white and blend with my skin tone. Tanning period will make you feel more confident- i don't have a perfect body. But, i'll be the first to tell you... the fat I do have looks better tan than pale. Tanning (i use to work at an tanning bed) brings melanin to the surface. I had some bad scars too and it made them fade quite nicely. There are dancers of all shapes and sizes- I had a guy talking to me about a girl on stage (we were watching her) and he said he loved coming in and seeing her because he loved full figured women. Don't worry chika- go in to some clubs - check out the girls there- make sure you're going to feel comfortable there- also they sell body makeup at stores like ulta- it's $10 a bottle. Let us know what you decide honey!

OK ill try to post pics on tues when hubby goes back to work and kids back to school lol then hopefully it will give you a better idea of what i look like now.. and it will be easier for you all to give your opinions..
    * there arent many high scale clubs around this area actually i think there might be only 1 and i have no plans on going there. I know there are some nude and some topless and a few pastie clubs some do stage only. I have been reading on the stripclublist.com to see what types of clubs are around this area. It really didnt help me decide what would be best for me and if i am actually ready.. i am pretty confident since i lost alot of weight and i do cardio religiously 4-5 days a week 45 mins and also weight training thats how i lost weight and im still losing it But i know i still have soe weight to drop, It mostly sits in my middle and top of my thighs as you will see whan i post the pics.. i just dont want to go somewhere and look out of place if thats what u feel like would happen please tell me i wont be hurt i actually appreciate the honesty.. thanks in advance ill update on tues with pics

Oh yeah i forgot to ask .. about the tanning. I thought about going to a salon there is a special on a salon close to here $100 for a yr. unlimited but i have been a little skeptical b/c i know its bad for your skin of course like the sun but it dont stop ppl from tanning but if you use alot of lotions would it be ok or would it make the stretch marks worse like less likely to shrink or w/e also does a tanning bed type tan mask the marks like a bottle tan? or do the marks gets darker or stay light? i dont want to waste money on a tanning salon if its not going to help.. i would use the tan in the bottle but it seems like it would have to be done alot and i do dry bruching on my skin and it seems this might streak the tan?? Also i dont have a clue how i would get it on my back, etc.. any more info on this please.. sorry for all the questions

personally tanning made my strech marks lighter. $100 a year sounds cheap. make sure you're using a bed with good bulbs- there are two different types of rays that the UV light gives off UVA (bad) rays and UVB rays- it depends on the type of bulb used and the quality if you're concerned about damaging your skin. the lotions that you use in the tanning bed will not only make your skins reaction produce more melanin (dark coloring) but will also rehydrate your body with nutrients as well- the lotion i use is an accelertor- makes your skins reaction to the bulbs increase- you can also use a tingle that will make your pores open up and bring more melanin orrrrr a lotion that is good for your skin and has fake tanner in it- level 1-5 on the bronzers level one will wash off in the shower like fake tanner the higher level the longer it will stay. I personally live off of cocoa butter. with dancing too it's important to stay with the lotions- i mean it's your skin ha- what you'll be making money off of. you'll be just fine tanning really. the thing people don't realize is you're getting the same rays from the sun just a more controled amount of uva & uvb rays. blah blah sorry my tanning rambling. i had some pretty nasty scars when i started tanning- they faded quite nicely. my strech marks are still there but a LOT less noticable. ALSO- bottle fake tanners are always going to streak- there is no getting around it- its like staining lipstick vs. actually bringing a darker pigment to the skins surface- i personally never put lotion on my back? i tan the darkest on my stomach and back - in a tanning bed you really wont need to worry about it- there are things sold to put lotion on your back- kinda look like the scrubbers in the shower? but with a foam pad. as for fake tanner who knows haha i wont mess with that stuff

I would personally stay away from tanning beds - skin cancer, melanoma, wrinkles, premature aging- no thanks.
You don't need to use a bottle tan, use a temporary one while you're at work and get one of the other dancers to do your back for you.

Audition now. Why wait? If you're ready, you'll only make yourself more nervous about it. If you're not, well... you'll probly find out why.

My only advice about stretch marks -- stay away from blacklights. Been in a room lit w/ blacklights, and it only accentuated them.
