I've never heard of this particular salon/brand, but I am aware of this technique. I would be leery of them unless they can email you closer shots of the scalp, and they definately need more before and after pics. I had a similar technique called invisble illusions, it lasted a year and it was well worth the investment ( it was $3000 not including travel costs and the human virgin hair, but I saved up for it like a brand new car). No one can detect the strands because the stylist literally blended one strand at a time. The procedure ( if done properly) takes a week if you choose to get the invisible illusions. The stylist stays in Texas, and she works with different hair types. There are many procedures that she offers, with varying prices. I'm tired and have a hang over from hell, so just pm me if you want her website, she has TONS of photos that show closer views of the scalp.

huh-- that'd have to be pretty damn worthwhile hair. Think about it: Travel time, travel money including hotel and food during that week, then there's the hair AND $3000?

I mean, wow. Even if it does last a year, wow.

I'm getting my sew-in extensions done in the ghetto a couple weeks from now. $60 to sew in 2 tracks, and then maybe $200 for wefts, and then tip, tax, whatever-- $300. Granted, I'm getting the middle grade hair, or the middle plus grade hair (meaning, I'm not getting the uber fantastic top shelf hair. I don't curl my hair, so I don't need super responsive hair like that.)

So-- $300 for 2 months. multiply that by 6= 1800 (even though I'd take a couple breaks in there anyways.) I'd be able to change my hair color, change my look (I'm going for a weave that's a different color than my own) take a break, and not have to commit to what would probably be $4000+ including everything.

I'm definately not suggesting that she should try this method as opposed to a good ole fashioned weave. But her original question was about the same procedure that I've tried in the past, and you should spend your time and research to get it done properly. It is a pricey investment, and I really don't want to see a SW'er to get swindled.

If you go to random stylist who claims they know how to do it, the result can be undesirable. Afterall, you get what you pay for. Don't get me wrong, I like sew ins ( I have one in now) but there are some women out there that want the ease and comfort of a weave as though it is her own. With these extensions you can cut, color, relax, swim, do whatever it is that you choose as though it is your hair.

Many women just like the fact that you can part your hair at any point on your head and keep people guessing. It's all about illusion here. And I did state above that their are other options that aren't as pricey, that have the same look, but the method of applying it is what causes the price tag to differ.

I decided that I wanted the smallest teeniest strand by strand because of modeling commitments. And my hair was being damaged by the weight of the weft of those simple weaves that I love oh so much lol. You get what ya pay for, and after having those extensions I had the freedom and luxury of not having to do track checks every time the wind blew.

Oh yeah, heres her website Isabella. She runs great promotions monthly, and you can easily get an invisible weave well under the four figure mark that is comparable to the one I chose. Check out her website, the woman works with her husband and they are an awesome team. You trip and hair won't be as pricey as mine, I chose the "celebrity package" that meant they pretty much only worked on my hair that week. Their shop is private and comfy, they will even come and do your hair at your hotel room ( or they can travel to where you are in the nation) if you so wish.

okay-- gotcha. See, I haven't had mine sewn in yet so I'm not sure how much of a pain it is.

Hey Layka-- can you go over to my sew-in extensions thread and tell me what the experience is like?

someone says my braids might grow mold. WTF?

Also, I want to know how bad it looks if I do pigtails-- yeah, they'll be a row but how ugly is it? Stuff like that. Don't want to threadjack. Would just appreciate info.

    Thanks for the info Layka.

The company dis send me a step by step video, but I missed place it and Im looking for it now so I can see how they do things.

As for the price, I think its resonable in the long run, because if one is spending about 3000 to 400 for a good ole sewn in weave like what every month, im not really sure how long they last, but 3000 and it last the year, well its good money spent in my opinion.

Im still going to check on the sites you guys gave me.

That's bs. Those women shave their heads for money to put food on their families table. I read an article on it- even 12 year olds get their head shaved.

I've even heard of people being attacked in their streets and having their heads forceably shaved in some countries!

I'm not going to lie, it requires the same amount of maintenance as your naural hair. I'm a huge hair health prima donna, and I get lazy from time to time, but this isn't an easy solution.... this is a commitment. I've had fusions done before and they took strand after strand out, yuck, but the method used on my head was WAY better!! As long as you continue to take care of your hair while you have them in, they will do wonders. My hair grew 10inches that year, and I was able to retain 9 inches since.
