I have a problem and I don't know if it's "normal" or common. A day or two before my period I get a HUGE appetite. I eat a lot of sweets and starches. I always lose it but I feel like a hog just the same. Anyone else experience this?

i call it 'the feeding frenzy'.
the body has a lot of work to do so i guess it's just stocking up. i crave anything that looks like it might be made of carbohydrate.




I've heard it's common (especially the craving for sweets), but it never really happens to me. Instead I get horrific cramps and can barely eat at all. Lucky me.
Right before I get my period, I eat EVERYTHING in sight: sweets (fruits, candy, chocolate, ice cream), starches, veggies....you name it, I'll eat it. NOTHING can stop me, it's like I go on a food rampage. There's no amount of will power in all of the world that can help me during that time. Sometimes it lasts a day, sometimes it lasts three days. It's a curse.

I just went through this!LOL! And believe me, I felt like a HUGE PIGGY after! In one evening I scarfed down a batch of peanut butter cookies...3 huge warm sticky cinnimon buns, a plate of cheese & crackers and ordered a large pizza later on!!!! Needless to say I put in some extra time at the gym!
OMG, so I'm not alone! I can kill a bag of tortilla chips easy! And THEN kill someone for something sweet! Hubby calls it my Fluffasoraus time. Hehehe. GRRRRRRRRR!
And even though I know a day or two of this crap wont show too badly...I still feel huge and gross, but I think that has to be the hormones and bloating and stuff, right? please say that's right. lol





i refuse to allocate any guilt to my feeding frenzy. i'm already covered in 2kg of fluid by that point... so meh and meh to the guilts.
it all goes by day 7.

I get it too. What's weird though is that for the week AFTER my period, I barely want to eat at all. So it balances out.
I feel minimal guilt about it while it's going on, but afterwards.....I try to workout a little extra.
In fact, I just went though it this weekend, and an entire pint of low-fat Haagen Daaz was just one of my victims. It may be low-fat PER SERVING but that doesn't really count when you eat four servings! (i.e. the whole thing!) And then who knows what else - I couldn't even list everything I ate this weekend.
that being said, it's time for a second jog on the treadmill!

lol i was just about to post something similar. I eat just as i am starting my period I eat and eat and eat fruit and healhy stuff just dosent do it for me it has to be pastrys chocolate chips all that yummy (and fatty) stuff mmmmmmmm Im eating sausage rolls right now and i think i may need some chips soon!!

Yeah, I ran 6 miles today to make up for yesterday's feast.
