    Default Bellydancing good for stage?

okay ladies once again I have another silly question for you all but my mind is always racing lol as you can tell lol...

But I was wondering before I go and spend more money do you think bellydancing is usefull for the stage? I mean I keep trying to come up with new routines in my room and dance room but its hard I seen Sharkia do a few moves but I wonder if anyone else has made money doing belly dancing moves or just stick to my bootie shaking lol?

A few moves are good, but some girls really over do it and it doesnt look good nor suit the music at times. However some of this comes down the the individual performer. Always some peoples shows are better than others and some peoples sense of timing etc is better than others (-:

Yeah, you could do the usual stripper moves and incorporate a few bellydance moves into your act. I fucking adore belydancing but really have no idea of what I'm doing when I try it out. BUT, the custies still love it and it does pretty damn well for me. Good luck, sweetie!

Damnit! I thought I was original!

I have been doing this for AGES! It helps you be aware of and use your arms when you dance (I canNOT count the number of times when strippers just forget to use their arms!) and it especially helps me out in private dances as I would do a slower version of a move. I'm totally self-taught tho' so my belly dancing moves are limited.

Granted, it will help you learn how to separate your top half and lower half in movement as well as "free" up your hips. Anything that can help you "free" up your hips will only make your other stock stripper moves look even better.

I say go for it. Learn the basics and the adjust it to incoporate it into your stage shows (and lap dances).

As much as some people don't like this series... It helped me tremedously

Belly dancing done right is so sexy on stage. I used to work with a ex-professional belly dancer and omg she made men drool. She had really exotic looks (mix of Chinese, Italian and Trinidadian) and always incorporated snake like hip/waist movements into her show. I used to watch her all the time because she was ridiculously sexy.

Do it! Do it! Do it!

Bellydancing mostly helped me get a feeling for a dance as a performance, or an actual "dance", it also helped with a few floor work moves for me.

I would do it, but then again, I grew as both a stripper and bellydancer at the same time, so the moves just crossed over inadvertandly.

One piece of advice though, avoid the shimmy, especially if you have a wiggly butt! Undulations are terrific, as are oumis, and large hip circles.

Oh yeh... the shimmy is great if you are doing it from the front (so no one can see the back of you) and you are wearing something that hides your ass however avoid using it on stage. I have especially found the undulations and arm movements to be of immense help on stage!

Bellydancing in small doeses is great. I love the hip movements as long as they are smooth and sensual. HOWEVER....... I used to work with a girl that was also a bellydancer, and that's all she ever did on stage. Let me just say that the combo of most of her moves paired with 7" heels was nothing more than akwardness. Nobody got it.
