    WTF... Set your own price????

There's a club around my way that is reopening, and I need you girls opinion ASAP, the auditions are tomorrow night. I spoke with the manager to get the rundown of how he plans to operate things, well nothing struck me as odd until I asked him the LD prices.

He started to laugh, and said "well, you tell the guys that you'll stop stripping when they stop tipping".

He was serious as hell, lol. Have any of ya'll ever encountered this logic, and is this worth my time. I do private parties, but I felt really out of the loop when he said this.

The club is a lapdance factory, but I told him that I would NOT get fully nude for anything less than $20.00 *humph*. He agreed with me whole heartedly. What have your experiences been with this type of set up. Give me your honest opinions please, I will still audition, but I will set my schedule to two days a week until I get a feel for the money potential.( private parties in Sundays not included)

    Thabks beauties

honestly, if it was a set your own price, I'd see what the standard was, then charge just a little less. Like, do deals, like if 20 is standard, do 3 for 50$

I likey the way you thinky, that is a good idea. I'm just nervous that I will undermine myself, but than again the name of the game is quality over quantity.
    *muah* blows kisses.

Okay ladies, please keep the ideas, and opinions flowing. I've never worked at a club where you set your own price.

Gosh, just hope and pray that it's a nice club-I could see this going very badly in certain situations.

I like set prices, with the option to tip of course. I cringe at the idea of setting my own price. I am comfortable with setting my own price for sitting with a customer.

I could just see girls undercutting each other all to hell. And tons of customer bartering and lying to get you to dance for less.

Which club is this, if you don't mind my asking? (I'm not going to audition there, as I really like the club I'm at now. I'm just curious...didn't think any MD clubs did the "set your own price" thing.)

I really don't think I'd work at a club that did that. I get enough assholes trying to haggle the prices and get a "bargain" as it is, and that's WITH set dance prices! I can hear it now: "but so-and-so only charges $x!"..."that's too expensiiiiive!"..."i'll only get a dance for less than $x"...what's going to happen on the slow nights, when the custys KNOW that there are more girls than spending guys...then they can basically name their price.

Kudos to your manager for endorsing the "no tip? no strip!" policy though. That's one thing I wish our club was harder on the guys about wrt: stage tipping. It is NOT a free show, dammit.

The club is re opening as the Harley riders club if my memory is correct. My manager was suggesting the technique like this, (telling the guy I'll stop strippin when you stop tippin)

He's had this rule before, and he said the guys on average will tip at least every 14 seconds, he stresses strong eye contact so they won't forget, and he outright told me that after 30 seconds of dancing if he ain't tippin STOP.

I've known him for awhile, but I never had a chance to work for him. He really is cool, and I'm not sure of the other dancers, but since he knows me OTC he has my best interest ( and his pocket of course ) in mind. But you ladies have some VERY valid point, but I'm one tough cookie.

I'm also not trying to come across as conceited, but I'm the best looking gal in the new club, so I kinda feel justified to stick to my guns, I dunno this is too stressful too think about before auditions.

I would figure out what other girls are charging....then just try to average around there or just under... make deals for prices etc..(as was already mentioned lol) Just smile, flirt and tease the guys, eye contact is super important. Make little jokes, stick your tongue out at the guys play with them.. it goes a long way.

^^^^ Thank you so much for the insight ladies. I like the idea of barganing, I see the pros and cons, but I like the sense of control it will give me, but I can see myself now bringing a calculator with me when I go to work to crunch numbers, lol.

*okay, at this rate, I have about three dances to go before I meet my goal*

I already have figured out a line for whiny guys

Hey, I use that line! I love to set my own price, and do it sometimes even when I'm not supposed to. There usually needs to be a minimum tho. And, my new trick... "it's $25 for a regular dance, and $50 for a naughty one" <wink> They always go for the fifty and I give them just a regular dance, but they keep buying. If they go for the twenty five just tone your contact waaay down but keep your sexy eye contact.

Don't undercut the standard price!!! It only devalues the dance and by doing that, you encourage to haggle for less and less and less. Go by the standard price. If you can't sell it at standard price, you are a shitty stripper. Plain out.

You should always be shooting for MORE, not less.

I'd say it depends on what the competition is.
There should be a standard norm and you charge according to the situation..be prepared to bargain but also prepared to gve up a customer who doesn't want to pay what you know you're worth.

I worked in a club with a similar attitude. The avg price was $20/song. Some girls who thought they could get it charged more, others did 3/$50. You just need to feel out the guy and see what he's willing to pay and don't go below a standard. In my case, when the Superbowl came to town the dance price went up to $40. If a dancer didn't adapt, basically she'd get blackballed out of the club. The guys paid it b/c they had no choice. There wasn't a girl who did't make at least a grand in a couple hrs that whole weekend. At the same club after the raids started, dance prices went up to $25 and $30 due to the raids going on. When girls hear about another girl seriously undercutting the rest, she won't last long. Also look around and see the competition, are they all classy? They will probably charge a decent amount whereas if there's a mix of girls there may be a conflict and some wars. Otherwise, you're all there for the same purpose and generally don't want to disrupt the flow of things. I say go for it you may be very glad you have this opportunity to be paid what you're worth.

I used to do 1/$30 if possible. Times changed and then it was 1/$25 or 3/ $70 or 5/$100. Don't offer the 5/$100 unless he's finished with 3 and won't spend anymore

I prefer a set price. I've worked in clubs where the champagne room price was up to each girl...and so many were severely undercutting. To the point where many of us could barely sell them.....they were doing hour long private rooms for like $100 or less when the standard for most of us was $300 an hour at least...HELL NO. So those of us who charged the "standard" were getting screwed.

All it'll take is one or two girls who are charging way less to fu*k it all up for everyone. If you can get the girls to band together and agree on a minimum price....it might work...but good luck on that one! Too many new girls coming and going to be able to keep control on that.
People always ask me, did I ever learn anything when I was a stripper? Yeah, I did. One man plus two beers equals 20 dollars.

I like the idea of doing 3 for such and such or 5 for this amount. If you have hustle then you could probably do very well with setting your own prices, but like some of the girls said, you might run into guys haggling for more for less, "Pussy v.s Money" (thnx Vi!)

Give it a shot a couple days a week, see waht happens, it could be a great thing. And if it's not, then move along....
    Good Luck!

I say that is fine with one caveat- That the club limits the number of dancers allowed to work per shift. ie; 1 dancer to every 5-10 customers. So if the club has a maximum seating capicty of 50 customers, then no more than 10 dancers on the busiest shifts.

Great minds think alike, the supply and demand comment came off the top of my head, lol but great minds think alike

And I love your ideas as well, the regular dance versus a naughty one is brillant.

I feel ya on not undercutting myself, that's why I said I felt justified to charge my determined price because I'm the hottest thang in the club. I also will use my quote to explain to the whiny men who feel like arguing with me, " Everything is driven off of supply and demand, you supply cause I'm in demand"

No worries.... I mean that shit, lol

So far there are five dancers, not including myself. The club is really small and private, it's a motorcycle club that has a strip club that's affliated with it. I didn't audition because the owner knows me, so I will be going in Friday night. They are only open twice a week until the amount/quality of dancers pick up. But that's just as well b/c I work private parties on Sundays.

I have worked in SC platnium plus, we had to set our own prices. the girls would charge 25 a dace I would charge 40 during season and 30 when it was slow. The good thing is that you can chage your price from customer to customer. I did well. when the guy would ask why so high I would tell him that you get what you pay for... im good looking and i give a good quality dance. I would make more money off of the LD then VIP. plus the vip was dirty, guys were always asking for sex. I always tried to sell the VIP at a high price (800 for the hr) then down sell on the LD for 40. I would say "lets get a sample its only 40." and it worked. good luck

Fuck that shit. I am sorry, but I hate being under cut and it happens in Las Vegas all the time. At one club I work, we "sort of" set our own prices for VIP in that we can charge between 400-600 for an hour, or more if we can get it. But never less than 400. It fucks up everyones game when girls start doing hours for say 200 or 300. Now I'm not saying that I think 200 dollars is not worth an hours work. And I don't make 200 dollars an hour on average, obviously, nowhere near it. It's just the fact that when girls start doing dances for cheap prices, customers get wind of it and don't want to pay other girls the right price. It would be my fear that a bunch of girls would start doing 10 dollar dances and that eventually that's all you'd be able to get for one. I hope that makes sense

Huh? You can't do this already? As long as you keep your pricing above the minimum, why should management care? I mean, I know some do but 'em.
I've always set my own prices, never had a problem.
