I've only been here a few years. Before that I lived in Buffalo.

We'll probably cross paths at some fetish event someday, I imagine.

Drat. I was out there oh... 7-8 years back (egads, that long ago?) and when I lived in upstate NY I wasnt that far north. Drat and/or double drat.

CSI/Law&orders are like a way of life sadly. and HBO shows.
harry potter (books, movies, whatever, im neck deep in this subculture)
Pot- even when im not a smoker, i find im in this subculture nonetheless.
    Xbox/Wii gamers
Pogo.com (im a sad sad online gamer, but not the D&D kind)
    Exhibitionism
Boggle. really. it can be a way of life.

Damn.... I grew up in Rochester! 18 years, where were you two?

I grew up in the whole punk rock/ska/skating scene, kinda grew out of it but kept the political leftist love, (and of course my love for music- both my parents are musicians and I have played cello and sing),

umm.... I ride a Ducati but I'm not an italian bike snob, prefer the overall sportbike community as opposed to what I've seen from the Ducatisti(s?)

I definitely consider myself a feminist and have taken part in a lot of activist events directed towards the goals of women's (and GLBT) progressivism, as well as other causes.

Also very artsy- I make strange collages and odd projects. fashionista (sometimes), love to cook, and I can be a gym-rat and product whore from all my time working at GNC.

I was also a film major before I switched to social policy- therefore a total movie nerd- I love all sorts of film, many foreign, many weird.

I grew up in Poughkeepsie & the surrounding area, went to college #1 in Cobleskill, and then to college #2 and #3 in Albany.

Dammit! I lived in WNY for 25 years or so. There aren't that many Dommes up that way. I pretty much had the market cornered in B-Lo as I'm sure you do in Cocoa Beach.
And it's so odd that I never heard of you before I joined SW. Just seeing your myspace made me realize the size of your "fanbase". Like a hidden gem, you are! (I swear I'm not Yoda posting under another name!)

That's pretty damn cool! More peeps from up north! For as long as I lived in Buffalo, I never went to Rochester much. There never seemed to be much of a reason since everything you could do there, you could do at home.
I've always thought the cello is such a beautiful instrument. Have you ever heard of Rasputina? One of my favorite bands EVER!
I guess that's the "goth" in me.

I adore Rasputina. I dance to "Transylvanian Concubine"... the remix w/ Manson! It rocks... haha I have loved them since 10th grade (7 years?)- way before their music made an appearance on Buffy the Vampire Slayer (i found that out on youtube... weird!)

I'm a rocker girl and a punk at heart.
I am also a guitarist, so jamming with local bands is a big thing for me. Music is a big big thing for me.
I'm very big on the Montreal Music scene... other than dancing and my regular day job, music is the only other thing I have time for.

Video games : Mainly WoW and FF, but I do have my other, lesser, vices...

CoSpLaY!!! : Such a nerd. I cosplay for Comicon. Yes, feel free to tease. Incessantly.

Music : Electronica, raving, progressive trance and HHC especially. On the flip side, classic rock.

    Cooking : Pwns.

Never really thought of myself in terms of sub-cultures. Now I have!

Geez, I dont even know! Science and testing (as in testing people... for various disorders... I just do it for classes, but it will be a part of my career and my friends are involved in similar fields... it takes up large chunks of conversations, heh), computers, cars, and ... my neverending love of animals? Oh, and definately different forms of dance and meditation (ballet, hip-hop, yoga, cheerleading, jazz... are those even in related categories? I don't know).

Honestly, I think "sex work" is the largest sub-culture for me. Not just the fetishes and dancing, but stuff that I DON'T do. It just interests me on a high level.

WAIT WAIT! I've got it! BEACH BUM! That is ABSOLUTELY my main sub-culture! Everything beachy... I love it. Surfing, boogie boarding, collecting shells (but there aren't many on THESE beaches), sunbathing, all of the smells... The weather. Nothing makes me happier than a beautful summer day at the beach. FIVE MORE MONTHS UNTIL SUMMER!

I guess my other world is acting. Ive been modeling and acting for 10 years now.
What I really want to be a part of, but haven't yet is Burlesque! I had a dream I was doing a crazy show with a long dress that unfurled with wires... I know it would combine my two loves of theatre and stripping so beautifully.

I'm a big queee-ah. Although, sadly enough, these days, the sex industry, which nonetheless I love, is preventing me from going out and hitting on the girls. Three cheers for stripping, but three boos for the best work hours being congruent with the best party hours.
Oh and Cally, I'm so envious of your equestrian-ness, I used to ride a lot, but havn't for several year - I need to get back into it. Jump a horse for me, would ya please?

I'm sorta a gamer geek... mainly rpgs but I am not a WOW fan

I play 4 insruments proficiently: clarinet, piano, saxophone, percusion (in that order)

I am facinated with "horror" anything: movies, documentaries, books.

I read about 2 books a week.... all murder, horror, fasntasy, no romance (vampire/witch/zombies mostly)

I am involved in a sub-catagory b/c of my man, Evan, action sports. I gotta tell ya I'm coming around... but shhh don't tell him.

Animals: I donate money, time, and basically have a petting zoo at my house.

And last but not least my newest day job: I'm a funeral director. Well, I will be licensed in a few months. Just working there now as an asst.

Oh... and I LOVE strip clubs! I would rather be a customer than a dancer tho... maybe one day.

I love football! Especially the NFL...watch every game if i can. (love my 9ers)

Cars. I'm part of a large Florida muscle car group. I own an 04 Mustang that was a drag car (also called a shadow car) running a V-8 modified, no nitrious this time around.

Rescue: This is a biggie for me. I rescue animals. Any animal that is turned over to me i take for treatment, or turn it over if i have to.

Snakes: Rescue. All mine are rescues. And have a license to rescue and hold non-venemous reptiles. But i only deal with the snakes, from keeping retics. to a bullsnake.

Music is a biggie. I always have it on one of the TV channels. Mainly 80's, and some 90's. But i get into jazz alot too. 70's music is great to get that heart pumping, so yes i am into disco dancing as well, (at home)

Being Vegan as best i can!

Dating the so called bad boys of the world at this point....this WILL pass.

Fetish which i am getting out of as the world of fetish in my eyes is changing...guess i had my share of dealing with people in real life i don't know just for money and it's tough on me now.

My one big one which pays well, is giving out fantasy to lonely guys/ladies! I love the work. I get ALOT of lonely people who just want to pay to chat, But take 2 days a week off now. This is taxing as well. But worth it.

And working back at the hospital. I have a deep love for people who are sick or dying, and feel a huge need to reach out to them. Helping people, period. If there is an accident i am there heping until medics arrive.

These may not sound like much of a sub-culture. But they are my passions. Even at work (the hospital) when i get a person who needs my help just to hook up oxygen (a visitor)...i will do it, so he/she can breath.

Dancing, in public, Slow, sexy close.

    Hmmm...let's see.

    Bohemian/anarchism/live-my-life-how-i-fucking-want-and-not-working-for-the-Man-ism.

Sex worker culture, for sure, particularly burlesque and stripping since that's my little corner of the sex worker world.

Veganism and animal rights 'til I die, yo.

    GLBT/Queer culture.

    Feminism.

    Hooping.

    Nudism.

Don't really consider myself a swinger or "in the lifestyle", but we're in an open relationship and I feel kinship with other people who take that approach to relationships, so I guess there's a bit of a subculture thing going on there.

    Agnostic/atheist.

    Similiar to Dottie.

    Sex Industry. Gimme some goss!

    Burlesque and Strippers/Stripping

Animals -- plan to start fostering cats from the local shelter as soon as mine transitions.

Hooping -- my first two hoops (one for practice, one for show) are on their way to me this week !! Thanks Dottie for the inspiration!

Wealth Creation -- as I really do want to know how to create a passive income so I get money working for me in the end

My spirituality is a sub-culture: paganism, witchcraft, the occult, etc.

Anime -- My good friend in Darwin turned me onto it. I've watched a fair bit and can't wait to go back to Darwin just so I can finish watching the Full Metal Alchemist series as I was enjoying that one before I left....

The Internet -- it's a sub-culture in and of itself in a way

World of Warcraft -- as soon as I get all the patches downloaded I can finally start playing it on my PC and not have to wait for my flatmate to let me have time on his laptop so I can play it.

Nothing much else I can think of at the moment.

    -Family living
-NFL & MLB- basically red sox/ colts info, any other team I could give two shits
    -Cooking- Allrecipes rocks!!
-Health/wellness - everytime there's a scientific study done proving something, I wet my pants, lol!
    -Celeb gossip
-mental illness, mostly depression & anxiety related disorders

This post just reiterates my boringness

Fetish and BDSM and swinging... because my only hobbies are work and sex so if I am not working or in class, it has to do with sex (esp when I can incorporate pretty clothes!)

The Geek subculture, was formerly Goth subculture....

I'm really into Chinese and Japanese horror, French romance and Korean Soap Operas (anyone watch these?!).

I'm really big into learning about every single interesting historical fact I can and learning more about other countries before, during and after my travels.

    So... I guess...

Worldy subculture.. (although how it can be worldly and a SUBculture is beyond me)...

I also want to really get into learning a lot about wine. I'm working on that.
