    Default Spirtual Advisor

Hey I was wondering how many of you guys have a spirtual advisor? How much do you listen to them? Why do you choose to have an spirtual advisor? How much do you trust them? What do you think a spirtual advisor suppose do and help you with Vs you learning and doing certain things on your own.

If you do not believe you need a spirtual advisor. Please enlighten us on why? What do you guys think of spirtual welfare and the connection we all hold.

I wouldn't say i have a spiritual advisor, but i thoroughly enjoy reading the teachings of OSHO http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rajneesh

I certainly don't consider myself a "follower" of Osho, but i like alot of his theories about interpersonal relationships and self awareness.

I haven't had one for a while, but I used to be one. For me it wasn't so much as taking everything that they said as law and as being written in stone... but I took their points and their ideas and tried to find how they worked in my life.

I have one. I didn't ever have one before but I do now. I only listen to him when I have a problem but he's usually right about anything he doesn't have a personal stake in... its certainly more efficient to learn from others' experience/knowlege but I'm the first to admit: Easier said than done.

I have a life coach...its always good to get objective advice from someone who can see the bigger picture. I'm getting better with looking at my life more objectively when needed to see the big picture, but we could all use that help.

I will never say a spiritual advisor or a life coach couldnt be a good thing, but the image in my mind that always comes up when "spiritual advisor" is discussed is Rasputin. Now THAT was a guy who got the most out of his "spiritual" guidence.

I dont have one, and never had one. Why? Putting aside for the moment Ive never enterained having one, I've read a damn lot of philosophy and religious works (scholarly and secular), and used what I have learned, I suppose, and applied what I thought was rational and relevent to my life as time goes by.

I guess I am adaptable (to a degree, naturally), and roll with the punches. I also try to not kid myself or deny self-truths to myself (it may hurt, but its always better to face my flaws then pretend they dont exists, or ignore them). No one knows my life or the deep, inner impact events have on me like I do, so I cant see any outsider having enough insight to be an effective spiritual advisor or life coach for me.

Remember that just applies to me and my personal situation alone. Its not saying an advisor can't be wonderful for someone else.
