It's like... a dance/techno song or something... It basically goes "blue skies" (I think) and then "whoooaaaaooooooowwwoooooaaah"

"Blue Skies," by Tori Amos. Or possibly "Blue Sky"... either way, it's Tori. I have it.
THank you thank you thank you!!!![]()

Search "BT Blue Skies" or "BT Tori Amos Blue Skies".
See this link for available versions. Can't remember which was the most popular/danceable. http://www.discogs.com/artist/BT

Got it.Thanks! Does she have any similar songs?

Tori Amos is a legend! You probably know her from "Cornflake Girl," but her two albums "Little Earthquakes" and "Under the Pink" are her best. Her newer stuff is more like "Blue Skies," but I don't like it as much as her older stuff.
She sounds kind of similar to P.J. Harvey, if you're into that kind of music, although I like Tori better.
I'm a ridiculous Toriphile. There are TONS of remixes of her stuff. I prefer the originals, but there are definitely some fun ones. Check this out (just a sample) for listings, then you should be able to order from somewhere like Amazon: http://www.cheebadesign.com/perfect/...s/remixes.html
Yekhefah, I agree with the PJ comparison, and I'd throw Kate Bush in there too.

interestingly, system of a down has a song that also has "blue skies" in the chorus. when i first heard this listening to the album, i nearly fell off the elliptical machine laughing, as I pictured Tori and Serj singing together.... very odd fucking sight...

The song "Blue Skies" is on BT's album "Ima", but does have Tori on vocals. I think they did a trade-off, since right after that BT did the "Tornado Mix" of "Talulah" by Tori. There are I think 5 mixes of Blue Skies, including ones by Rabbit In The Moon, Deep Dish, and Paul Van Dyk spaced out across two singles, both of which I have. My lovely wife is/was also a ridiculous Toriaholic. She and I both lost interest after Choirgirl Hotel, though. (Rose, the wifey gets really annoyed when I bring up Kate Bush...heh. So true, though.)
waffles are just pancakes with little squares on them.
Ahh, Mr.Chris, I do know what you're saying, both about the post-Choirgirl period of decline (there is some good stuff there, you just have to dig a bit - do give "Scarlet's Walk" a chance if you haven't; it's no "Boys for Pele", but it's mostly pretty damned good) AND about the Kate Bush.
The very first time I heard Tori I was completely unimpressed - her cover of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" came on our alternative station, and I LITERALLY said out loud, "What the hell does Kate Bush think she's doing?!?" Obviously I got past it eventually, though.
Bella, back on topic, look in particular for Armand Van Helden mixes of her stuff. I think it's comparable to the BT stuff (though someone who knows techno better than I might roll their eyes at me there).

I've never heard Kate Bush. I'll have to look for her.
The thing I love best about Tori is her amazing range. She can do that high, wailing voice or deep and gravelly or soft and airy, and her voice is just so intense and passionate. This is not one of my favorite songs of hers, though. I really do think "Little Earthquakes" was her best album... "Leather" still gives me chills in my back. Great song.
If those are the qualities you like about Tori's voice, it'll be interesting for you to hear Kate's. The CONTENT of the music is markedly different, but the voice resemblance itself can really be uncanny at moments.
Yek, may I suggest "The Sensual World" for starters, especially the track "Love and Anger". From elsewhere, "Cloudbusting" and "Running Up That Hill" are favorites as well.
For me, with Tori, it's the lyrics above all. And "Leather", damned straight, is one of the greats. That single piano note, eight times, and then:
Look, I'm standing naked before you -
don't you want more than my sex?
I can scream as loud as your last one,
but I can't claim . . . innocence.
Oh. God. Could it be the weather?
Oh. God. Why am I here?
If love isn't forever - and it's not the weather,
hand me my leather.
(Haven't we all been there, girls? Heh. Had to. Sorry. Thanks for indulging me!)

LOL, I was singing along as I read that!
