I love waxing, but I can't do it when I dance because I have to be smooth all the time and can't allow for the hair to grow out long enough to get it waxed. Shaving is the only way when you dance regularly.

this sounds weird, but when i first started, my friend told me 1, shave every day, no matter what, and the razor burn will stop (and it works), and 2, after you shave, put deodorant down there. it works for me. and if not, theres always makeup.

I shave every time I dance. I had always had a terrible time with razor burn. Even before I started dancing I kept myself pretty bare down there, and the day I shaved I would always have very noticeable red bumps around my bikini line. My secret? Bikini Zone after shave gel. This stuff works like a charm! I never have probs with razor burn anymore and I'm shaving 3 times as much.

Especially since it's a full-nude club, I would suggest shaving. I get bad razor burn, but you can never see it at the club. And the Bikini Zone does have really good stuff. They sell a shaving gel that I now swear by, and definately use the deodorant. It really helps! I barely get bumps anymore!

Shave, moisturize then Dove clear anti-perspirant. No bumps ever.

I work at a few full nude clubs, and I wax - myself. It's the only way I can stay hairfree and not have to shave. It means I wax about once a week - the regrowth isn't that bad, I could get away with longer but I just get paranoid. I wouldn't recommend waxing yourself though unless you know what you're doing or you could bruise yourself...
Then again a dancer was telling me last night that she cuts herself everytime she shaves...arrrrgh I cringe just thinking about it!

Also if you do a search there's about a million threads on this already. Everyone's going to have their different opinions. I'm one of a minority that waxes - most other dancers I know shave and some have never ever waxed in their lives, whereas I would never go near myself with a razor. It's all personal preference, both have their pros and cons.

I suppose you can try to use some kind of body makeup if its really that bad.

I shave everyday I work...to prevent razor burn in that area (my only area that seems to be prone to it!), I always shave in the direction that the hair grows. When I get out of the shower, I apply white stick deodorant, also in the direction that the hair grows.

Waxer here since I was 12 years old and I have only ever worked full nude so it isn't a problem. You just pluck the strays out or if you can't bring yourself to wax yourself go to the beautician and get it done.

For the life of me I'm trying to figure out why a 12 year old would feel the need to wax her naughty bits. o.O

I still wore bikinis back then ! They weren't as skimpy as they are now however I still had to look after my bikini area. I just take more off now than I did back then. My mother made me do it The only part of me "virgin" is my arms as I refuse to wax them as I never saw the hair on them or anyone's arms (unless they are "ape" like if you know what I mean?) a problem.

I shave with mens ravors and shaving cream. We dance we can't wax. I like to shave the good old fashion way. Mens razors over womans.
What ever can make a mans face smooth can do that to my pits, bikini and legs perfectly.

Sophie, do you use those old-fashioned single-bladed ones? Those are the BEST!

I rub in baby oil, then conditioner, and shave. After I get out of the tub, dry off, rub in lotion, and then apply Dove invisible solid deodorant for sensitive skin. I haven't had razor burn in years, since I started doing this.

I'm with sophie on this one.

I shave with a men's razor everyday. I quit using shaving cream as it seems to dull the blade and moisturizing strip faster. I use liquid soap. I must shave everyday or I just feel funny, even if I'm not dancing or going anywhere I just don't like hair. I've never tried waxing but shaving is such a part of my routine I'll probably never try it.

I love Gillette Sensor Excel double and triple blade.

I actually started waxing like 6 years ago and never turned back but when I started dancing I realized this wasn't gonna be an option.

    I HATE SHAVING!!!!

So i invested in Laser hair removal. It's the best thing ever. I've only had two sessions and there's only super thin baby hair left, I still have like 1 yr of sessions left in the package though. I did the math and I 've already spent more money waxing just my bikini than what it's costing me to laser my under arms and full bikini, ur skin gets soooo much healthier too.
I was always kinda scared cuz I'm tan olive skinned but it hasn't been an issue at all

    I recommend it to everyone

I shave and have never tried waxing. It seems like you wouldn't have enough time to grow out the hair in order for them to wax it. I can't stand to go more than one day without shaving, dancing or not.

Shaving has never bothered me, and I can do it quickly. I remember when I first started shaving my mom told me that she shaves every day. So, that's what I did. It's very routine for me.
