Default BA post care regarding scarring

    hi all,

still researching BA and have now booked myself in for first consultation

just want to ask for any advice / tips in regards to minimising scarring - eg creams, tablets, procedures, etc.

what did you girls do to look after your new breast straight after the operaton to minimise scarring? whatever you did, you think it worked?

    cheers,

    julie

Scars will fade over time. Not that I would recommend this, but apart from the usual keeping it clean and not picking the scabs, I did nothing with my scars and they are still virtually invisible. I have very hearty skin that isn't prone to scars, however.

My doctor gave me a silicone cream product to rub on them and they've faded lots

Some people put vitamin E on them, but my doc said there were mixed results from that, and if you trust a person enough to let them cut you open, you should probably trust them in regards to scar care

Ask the doc's you have consults with, they specialize in this!
