    Default Audition Rejection Sucks

So I have been dancing at one club for about 4 months, and decided to audition at a gown club, now that I have my feet wet (and can now walk in those shoes). I bought a great black gown, long, elegant. I wore juicy emerald (faux) earings and wore my hair losse and curly. I looked good! They had me do a 20 second audition on the mini stage in VIP. after I was done, the manager whispered to the house mom, who then escorted me bac kinto the dressing room where she told me they were not looking for any girls at this time. Hmmmm. Why even bother having me audtion then? I asked the HM what I could improv eon so that my chances would be better next time, and she insisted that "it's just a slow time and yada yada". She was very sweet and supportive, but I can't help but feel like they're not giving me the whole scoop. Could it be because I don't even have 6 months experience? I feel ok, I mean, I went home and watched Conan O'brian with my honey, and drank a new castle, tried to just chuck it up as "an experiance". So I'll try another gown club in a few days. So what. Right?
Oh, BTW, this was Club Paradise in Vegas.

Yeah I'd say that it is safe to assume that they were bullshitting by saying that it is a tough time of the year. Especially since the manager whispered to the housemom like that. I think "sorry, we aren't looking for any more girls at this time" is the generic excuse that managers/housemoms use when they don't want to hire someone. Then again, I've also heard of managers/housemoms being honest and telling the girl that she is pretty, but would need to lose some weight before they'd be able to hire her...or that she didn't have quite the look they were looking for...or something along those lines. So at least they didn't tell you something like that.

It could also be that because it's such a slow time of the year, that they are more picky about who they hire. It could also be that you look good, but they already have a number of girls with your type of look(for example, a tall thin Caucasian blonde or whatever type), and that you don't look distinguisably better than the other girls of your "type." For example, I worked at one club where they were concerned about having too many black girls and wanted more variety. The manager told a black girl who auditioned that she already had enough black girls. Then again, the black girl who'd auditioned wasn't exactly a perfect 10. If she had been, then they woulda probably hired her despite seeking more variety in looks.

I wouldn't say that lack of experience is an issue, as strip clubs don't care about "work references" as much as regular jobs do. But if you haven't been dancing long, perhaps you don't have experienced dance moves yet. I do not know(haven't ever seen you dance). But then again, I think that most clubs are way more concerned with looks than actual dance skills(although I've heard of a few clubs that actually expect their dancers to do pole tricks and stuff!).

I think you have the right idea by seeking out other gown clubs and not taking it personally. It coulda been a "stupid" reason for not being hired, anyway(club managers are weird/fickle like that). What reasons do you have for wanting to leave your current club? If you really like the club that you checked out, then I'd suggest trying it again in about half a year when the season is busier. If the issue is you appearing relatively inexperienced in general or with the dancing, then a few more months should solve that problem. And when they're busier, dancers will be more in demand so they might not be as picky/fussy. Either way, I wish you the best of luck. With your motivation, I'm sure that you will find a great gown club soon!

Vegas is like that. You can audition several times at the same club with the same manager and get turned down the first two times and get hired the tird time.

Does Club Paradise still do their Sunday ametuer contest? That's how I got hired there was by doing the contest and then asked if I could come in to work the next day.

I don't think I would have been hired on looks alone. Because I had a chance to spend time on stage and interact with the audience, then I was hired as a dancer there. BTW I liked working at CP, that is a nice club.

im sorry that sucks but there are lots of other clubs in town. it isnt a slow time in vegas right now.its actually the opposite. can u post a pic of urself and maybe the vegas dancers can help lead u in the right direction? how old r u? i know that Paradise doesnt like to hire young girls because most of their clientelle are older gentleman. they are very picky too. just try out somewhere else - maybe mens club they are brand new and need girls. minx needs girls. crazy horse and trasures are easier to get hired at...dont feel bad.u can always reaudition at paradise later on

When I first started dancing, I was rejected at a second tier club because I was not "elegant" enough - I had short hair then and was a little punk. A few years (and a few inches of hair) later, I was a top-earner at a Fort Lauderdale (RICH TOWN) gown club. Refine your look and your stripper persona and only good things can happen. No one is perfect, and no one ESPECIALLY comes "straight from the factory" stripper perfect. You have to be both your own harshest critic and greatest supporter to make it in this business.

Gown clubs are incredibly harsh about the caliber of girls they hire. If you are even 5 pounds overweight or there's one glaring flaw (like a bad boob job, big ugly tattoo, or very visible stretch marks) then they won't hire you. They are the clubs that you can make the most money at because they attract the best clientelle by being uniform in the quality of their dancers. They cater to old rich dudes who have conservative tastes and expect all strippers to look like models. I've never seen a girl who has less than an 8 body and a 6 face at a gown club (on a scale of 1 to 10). It's a rough racket!

First and foremost sorry that happen to you and I know its hard to take but look on the bright side at least they didn't tell you lose weight, get nose job, um tone up or whatever the case maybe.

In this industry you are going to hear alot of NOS before you hear a YES so just be happy that you are A. Still working and B. can walk in those shoes lol but seriously hunny its not you it is slow and managers are picky so just brush it off your shoulder and know that you can always go back when you do feel more confident and show him what you got little mama!

Keep your head up and know you have a home club and all you can do is go up from here!

Yeah, happened to me once. It fucking pissed me off. At the old Crazy Horse I walked in to audition, right, and they told me that I was 20 minutes early and had to wait in the lobby. Who the fuck complains about somebody getting to a job interview early? Then I came back 20 minutes later and the manager without even looking at me told me they wern't hiring. He was reading the paper. It was very weird!!! I've always been intimidated to audition at club paradise because i was told they don't hire less than a C-cup, I'm a small B cup. (I'm like 5'2" 100lbs, so no room on me for titties lol). Anybody know if this is true?

That's so stupid, me being a big cheasted female I love seeing smaller cheasted females. My best friend is small chested and I wish mine was smaller so I didn't have to haul DD's all over the place. That and I just think small boobs are hella cute. I think it just depends how you work it. I think that's bullshit they don't hire any less than a C cup. A B on you probably looks great, a C would probably make you look silly.
