Yeah that can happen. Ask if they can use UV protecting top coat- that helps. Otherwise when you go tanning, use cheap masking tape (the brown stuff that's not really very sticky. Cover your nails with little pieces of that, and when you're done tanning, it will come off easily without leaving any sticky residue. I know they make nail covers that you can buy, but this way is cheaper and works just as well.
Take the road less traveled- just make sure you have a map.
Yes, it is from the tanning booth. It even happens to my pale pink nail polish when I get only a manicure. There are little covers that you can buy at some tanning salons to wear over your nails so they aren't exposed to the sun lamps. I'd wear them, but they cut off the circulation to my fingertips!

oh okay thank you sweeties!

Next time you have your nails done ask your nail tech to use a top coat with an ultraviolet inhibitor -- I am at a blank with what my gal uses (I will either think of it - or I will ask her and get back to you) but it does wonders as far as keeping my pink and whites looking good - it also saves them from becoming gummy with suncreens and lotions... Love it!

also, if you use lotion when you go tanning, make sure to wipe your nails clean after you apply the lotion. that makes a difference for me.
I got a vitamin e nail polish I put as a top coat for my gel nails, I ALWAYS get french.. I use the vitamin e and make sure to clean the tanning lotion off thoroughly before tanning. Also the UV polish should go on before the french, then use that and the vitamin e as a topcoat.

These covers pop over your nails and protect your french mani. They also make them for toes.

Acrylic yellows when exposed to UV light. One hundred percent non-acrylic gel does not, ie) En Vogue.

get the little nail savers to protect them. the uv topcoats are useless, in my experience

I have covers for my nails to keep them from yellowing.
The UV topcoat nailpolishes tend to glow inder the blacklight while at work. I personally don't like this, I feel like Im at a rave twirling around glowsticks!

lol me too i got the covers and so far so good!
