Default Want to trim down but save my boobs!

    Ok, here is a conundrum:

Whenever I loose weight, it comes from the top down. That means I loose from my boobs way before I see any changes in my ass, abs, thighs, or waist.

When I am at my best weight (if I ever get there again) I am flat as a board on top.

Right now, my boos look killer. But the rest of me . . . . not so much.

So how can I loose weight (or at least look better) from the rib cage down, but keep the boobies as they are? HELP!!!

I think where people lose weight is genetic, and not under our control. When I am a healthy, thin weight, I have no boobs either--so I have fake ones.

UGH - Good Luck with that one If only I could get the fat on my thighs to work it's way to my butt (why oh why must I have a flat butt?!) and the fat in my stomach to move on up to my boobs I'd be THRILLED
I have found that I look a little better with some extra weight on my bones (yay for BOOBS!) now I just need to TONE UP what I got and I'll be happy - OK well, happier then flabby...

I'm the same as you Colleen. I lose it first in the boobs and last in the thighs. I just figure eventually I might get implants and lipo to even me out a bit.

I cant wait for my next lipo appointment. I am ready to dance just for that. Lipo from my gut and lovehandles has made my boobs look bigger.
I will get some implants after I give birth. I have noticed that fake boobs look even better after a girl gives birth.

I really wish you would stop already. Seriously, your shit is getting old. Youre post isnt even helpful. None of them are helpful unless they are in a lipo related thread. This however isnt one. You know you seriously need help with your lipo and ED problems. Get help and stop shoving your weight problems in every post.

Colleen the best way to stop boob loss is to do chest exercises. Working on your arms will help too then making you look more balanced on your upper half.

Not gonna happen hun. You simply cannot lose weight in "spots". You lose it where you lose it. You can tone up certain spots more by exercising those areas more, but you'll still lose weight the same way you always do.

If you must have the boobs and be thin, it's gonna require a boob job.

Chest exercises only build chest muscle, not boob.

You can 'tone' in spots. At least, I can. I work on the gym equipment that deals with specific muscle groups. I've been working on the abductor machines for my inner-thighs lately and I can see them separating (hey, no jokes!)... I'm not sure it would work for more weight, but it definitely works to tone and at least create the appearance of less weight in areas...

... but in another note, you usually gain weight.

    Muscle weight.

^ But, in the process of doing that, you are still burning fat...and how you burn fat is completely predisposed and subject to genetics.

In all of my years of Personal Training/working out...I have never, ever found a way to reduce the fat in one area while not affecting another area. If you find out how, market it, because people would pay an arm and a leg to know this.

Heh, Colleen... I would LOVE to lose weight in my thighs FIRST. Wouldn't it be nice if the amount of stored fat could be mentally controlled? I mean simply, like breathing. Say, "no body, I don't care what you think, there is plenty of food and you don't need to store that". Maybe with time we'll evolve.

*sigh* I kind of thought it would come to this. Boob job is SO not an option right now. I did hit on the idea of toning my trouble spots (read, entire lower half) and arms, and taking tonalin to help reduce cellulite and firm up my boobs.

I also know a couple of good tanning tricks to heighten that "hourglass" look.

What sorts of exercises might be best for pulling in the abs and trimming the waist? I am alternately doing Pilates, belly dancing, and the NYC Ballet workout, all with lots of ab exercises.

Crunches... especially on the ab machine... mmm... try 20kg if you wanna firm up... 40kg if you wanna get some six-pack going on.

I have really nice C cups boobs, in my opinion the perfect size, they are my best feature. Here is my question...i am currently losing weight i would like to get down to 105 to see how i look, my lowest before has been 112. I am about 118 now.
I know i will lose some boobs but i want to see how my body will look overall.
If i were to be unhappy with it...will it be pretty easy to gain the weight right back healthy AND gain my boobs back close enough to their usual perky boobs! If it came down to it, i would rather keep my boobs how they are now and get a little lipo on my stomach or something since that is my trouble area( i am pretty sure i am a good candidate now bc i do not have much fat there just some stubborn areas and i can not afford it right now.)

There's no way to tell how your boobs would respond to a weight loss and gain without actually doing it. How did your boobs look when you were 112? Also, it depends on your body fat percentage. Someone at 105 with a 20% body fat percentage will not look as lean as someone at 112 with a 16% body fat percentage. That's the number that will really give you a better answer.

I lose from the top down, so I feel ya. My face thins out, then my upper arms, then my boobs disappear... sexy...

Anyway, work on your obliques to pull in your sides a bit. Another option is to build your upper body (upper back, lats, etc) in order to fake a smaller middle. It works, trust me. Or trust the smart women from Oxygen magazine. Optical illusions are your friend.

Forget about the boobs. Those Brazilian Carnival dancers (and I will soon be one of them ) are all flat chested, but they have bodies to die for. Better to have small assets but look good in a swimsuit, as long as you're not anorexic. I have the same problem with the ass. I love my ass but I don't like the hips that support them, so I'm losing weight. My boyfriend will be pissed that he has no ass to grab while hitting it from the back but oh well, atleast he will eat his heart out when I show off new lingerie.

that is SO true, I can't even begin to count how many people have said how skinny I am (like a toothpick) because of my tiny waist and upper body when in reality all of my fat goes to my ass and legs (which I work like crazy to keep somewhat toned). So yes, optical illusions ARE totally your friend.

I think you need to retitle this thread: Want to trim down and save for my boobs.

The only way to keep the big boobies with a small body is cosmetic surgery, plain and simple. Other things may help, but not a lot.

Trust me, when I get down to less than 130lbs my boobs are low C cups..when I gain some pounds (fine by me) my boobies are a healthy 38DD, and as a matter o' fact it seems like they've been growing!

Next week I'm going to start working out again, so by by boobies

Where you lose fat is genetically determined, and there isn't a thing you can do about it. You can make your boobs look a little perkier by working your pecs though. The effect is minimal, but if they are just a little deflated looking it might work

I just called it quits on trying to save them and put all the money I was saving from not going out to eat and when I hit my weight goal got my BA.

If your only looking to trim your waist, mine flattens like a board when I cut dairy out.

I'm in the same boat as you, Colleen. I want to drop a couple inches from my waist, but I don't want my boobs to shrink. I think the only solution is to get a boob job and/or lift. You can't really control which areas you lose weight from first. However, wearing a good fitting bra all the time and doing chest exercises can make them look perkier once the weight starts coming off.
