    Lightbulb A SW Cookbook

I'm sitting here eating some fucking DELICIOUS corn casserole and thinking about recipes I like, and I realize I haven't bought a cookbook in awhile. That led me to an idea...

I know StripperWeb needs money for support, right? So why don't we do a StripperWeb cookbook? We could all contribute several of our favorite recipes and sell the cookbooks as a fundraiser - at work, on our webpages, to friends, etc. There are a lot of fundraiser cookbook publishing companies out there. I have a lot of cookbooks that were fundraisers for other people's churches, schools, nonprofits, etc.

It'd be fun! I personally can think of several people who would be interested in a novelty stripper cookbook... and a lot of people here really have some great recipes. Pryce, are you into it?

And then have other people make stuff from it?

Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!"

an actual book, now... sounds like a cash magnet to me... especially with saucy profile pics (no pun intended)

Hey, yea! We could do a cookbook WITH sexy stripper pics! Of course you wouldn't have to contribute pics if you'd rather stay anonymous, but those who would, could, and I bet we could sell the hell out of a cookbook with cute pictures of strippers cooking in bikinis or eating cupcakes with their fingers, stuff like that!

I think this idea is fabulous...as long as its a Stripper cookbook, and not a cookbook of only what stripper's should really be eating, lol

That would be boring. Bring on the REAL food!

I know there is more than that thread in Body Business. I think there may be 2-3 going there. I've contributed to it before but can't seem to find it. I also know around Christmas there were a few good ones in the Lounge as well.

So I just did a quick glance around...

If we go with , we can all enter recipes online from wherever we are. They'll do all the arranging and whatnot, send a book for proofing, etc. I'll be happy to overlook the proofing and organization. They invoice you after they ship the books, and they also have a place to purchase online directly from them. They seem good for our needs, since we won't be selling all our cookbooks from one place at church or whatever.

What do y'all think? I'll coordinate the cookbook itself if someone else handles the invoicing and selling. We could put the SW logo on the front or have a sexy cover girl.

At this particular company, we can expect to spend $3 or $4 per book (depending on how many recipes and how pretty we want it to be), and we could sell each book for $10. Surely that would raise enough to take SW worries off the backs off Pryce and TOO for awhile!

Yeah, the only pic would be on the cover, and you could use your stage name to submit. I'm thinking we could each put our stage name, what we do, and location under each recipe, giving as much info as we want. Like any of these (not to call anybody out, just listing format examples!)...

    Ashley Tyler, Feature Dancer
    Toronto, Canada

    Lily, Dancer
    Los Angeles

    Djoser, DJ
    Florida

    VenusGoddess, Retired Dancer
    In the Sun

A few of us might actually want to get funny and creative with our locations, the way we do here on the forum.

EDIT: Actually, for a couple pennies extra per book, we could also put a cover on each section divider. So we could have a hot stripper chopping veggies on the "Vegetable and Side Dish" section, a hot stripper pulling a pie out of the oven on the "Dessert" section, etc.

Keep it simple stupid - KISS

I say do not use any photographs except of the "end result" just like you would have in any other cookbook. Why? Then we don't have to worry about people getting their panties or what-not in a wad over not having made it "inside" the cookbook if you get my drift?

I still think the cookbook idea is fabolous!

I'm thinking we could each put our stage name, what we do, and location under each recipe, giving as much info as we want.
Even allow us to not even put our location just our username or stage name and website address instead of location if we have a website we want promoted.

All you have to do is have a restriction on how many characters is allowed per line and how many lines max are allowed.

    Yeah, website! Great!

I was thinking that we could charge more per cookbook with a few photos, and they might be easier to sell to strangers. After all, who wouldn't want a novelty stripper cookbook with a sexy stripper photo on each chapter? I doubt THAT many people are going to have photos to submit, and we can agree on a pic for each chapter.

^^^ That's a good idea. Relevance to a particular section would be good too... I'm already grinning at the thought of how a hot girl would pose for the meat chapter.

Seriously, I looked into it and the photos are cheapest and easiest when we just put one full-color picture on every chapter divider. Each chapter has a thick divider (with an optional tab) and we could print the full-color photo on every chapter. Since each full-color photo is 20 cents per photo per book, we'd have to charge more for the books but I think they'd sell better in the long run. Maybe we could charge $15 or $20 for each book... that's still totally reasonable for a good cookbook with bikini pictures in it.

I do think they should be bikini or implied nudity. I doubt the company is going to want to print T&A, and they'll be easier to sell if they're more pinup and suggestive than pornographic.

Anyway, the first step is Pryce approval, and then I'll order the little free "get started" kit.

I dont know how we would go about deciding on the pictures, or what kind of pictures to take. Would you hire a photographer or just take pics w a digital cam in your kitchen? It would make a big difference. I have a few recipes to offer up as well! This should be great if it can be organized.

How about "Cheesecake from Stripperweb and lots of delicious recipies, too" and have a pin-up style photo on the cover of one of our members? Make it a combo girly mag/ cookbook.

It wouldn't be hard to do in PDF format. Then you can do it all through email, burn to disc and even get someplace like Kinko's to print up the finished product. Make only the cover photos and section photos in color and the individual dancer photos (along side the submitted recipie) in black and white.

I used to publish a magazine with my husband back in the late 90's and it was pretty easy with Acrobat.

Oh, and my cheesecake recipie (lemon meringue cheesecake) is to die for. I baked one today!
