I still cant believe a woman president might actually happen. The fact that its Hilary has bid to run is even more baffling.

If the Dems run Hillary, they will confirm their total irrelevance.
The corpse of Malcolm X has more chance of winning the presidency than she does.

Actually, every New Yorker would vote for Hilary in a New York minute whether they agree with her political policies / positions or not ! The reason ... with Hilary in the 'driver's seat' it's absolutely guaranteed that federal tax money collected in the other 49 states will wind up being redirected to federal spending in New York state !
The selection of Hilary as the leading candidate should be the source of some fairly interesting entertainment. She and Bill of course have the pre-existing connections to heavy duty Democratic political donors ... including billionaire MoveOn.org backer George Soros. On the other hand Barack Obama appears to be the choice of mainstream media, based on ... well it can't be based on previous political experience in the House or Senate that's for sure. And so far the Hollywood Celebrities and the Labor Unions haven't tipped their hand. That about covers it for significant parties re the choice of Democratic nominee.
Barack also knows the real score here, and has been maneuvering ...
She has to get past the primaries first.
Both Barack and Hillary announced on their internet sites recently.

It's the Republican primaries that will be more interesting this time around... who will get to be the sacrificial lamb?

^^^ actually I'm hoping that Ron Paul will get some airtime ... doubtful !

Who can ever spend more than a Billion dollars will be the next President.
Yeah, the presidency will go to whoever has the best lawyers. That's how it's done in the twenty-first century!

... or get a billion dollars worth of free mainstream media news coverage vs having to pay for it !Who can ever spend more than a Billion dollars will be the next President
Hillary is a lot of things; stupid isn't one of them.
She wouldn't bother running--especially with a secure Senate seat--if she didn't have the financing, organizational structure and popular backing to do so.
It's going to be a very interesting election season...can't believe I said that and it's only January of 2007.
Idealism is fine, but as it approaches reality, the costs become prohibitive.

How about a vote of no confidence (or its equivalent) in New York. Since she occupies a Public Office and is Campaigning full till for another.
If anyone else didn't show up for work because they were campaigning for public office; it would be reasonable to assume dismissal.
Fair enough?
Right, because that never happens with any other politician.Originally Posted by ArmySGT.

So I am the only Person that believes it is wrong to be paid from public coffers and not show up for work. If it makes you feel better I believe the same thing for Kerry.
fun facts: GWB was governor of TX when he ran for office. His dad was VP of the USA when he ran.

MOST politicians running for any major office (and a whole lot of minors) are in some other office while running for the new one. If we were to fire them all for that we'd have no gov't left. Try to find something better sarge; that one's just not working![]()
As for Hillary, I am SO gonna vote for her. I will probably never vote republican, Hillary's a smart cookie and damn straight I wanna see a chic in the Oval Office for something other than giving BJs. Perhaps she'll get herself some cunnilingus in the OO from some hot young studly intern too![]()

Hey you're in luck! It just so happens that New York State did recently hold such a vote.
She was re-elected with 67% of the vote on November 7
I guess they just didn't agree with you about what kind of job she is doing for them.

Sarge, don't you watch the Sopranos ? Didn't you know that no-show jobs are an institution among NY gov't positions and union contract jobs ?If anyone else didn't show up for work because they were campaigning for public office; it would be reasonable to assume dismissal.
Fair enough?
GWB was a sitting govenor when he ran for prez. So was Ronald Regan.
I don't think it is wrong if the politicians still manage to get their work done while on the campaign trail. Cool thing that internet for making working remotely possible.
Isn't Soros supporting Obama? I thought I read that.
When it comes to in-the-trenches experience, Clinton has been there, done that. She has survived scandal and two presidential campaigns already. She has established herself as a very viable and strong contender in this race. She is probably uniquely qualified as not only being a senator who won by a landslide in the last election, but having spent 8 years already in the white house. Even though she was 'only' the first lady, I'm sure that she was privvy to the President's day to day work, and probably had a reasonable amount of infulence on the decisions he had to make while in office.
Obama has very little experience in Washington. He may be a great speaker, but after watching his interview on Oprah last month, there is no way I will vote for him. I get the feeling that his heart isn't in being president. He said that he will not move his family to Washington and that his wife plans on keeping her career. That does not sound to me like someone who has dedicated his life to the service of his country, that sounds like someone who is looking for a "job". I'm sure he is a fine person and is working dilligently to make the wishes of the people known in his lawmaking as a senator, but I just can't see him as presidental material.
And on the Republican side, are they trying to lose? Will Cheney even run? If he doesn't that will be the first VP that didn't run at the end of the President's term in my lifetime. In any case, I was looking to see who the Republican front runners are. Rudy Guiliani and John McCain are the popular front runners with Newt Gingrich a distant third. I don't think any of those guys can win against Clinton. In polls conducted last month she will win by a clear margain against all of those canidates, Obama can beat everyone except Guiliani.
Where are the Republicans that actually have a snowballs chance in hell of winning?
I agree that Ron Paul would make a great president, but he is not who the majority will vote for.
Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!
I would vote for her in a heartbeat ! And I have Republican tendencies . I think she is one tough lady and she's smart as a whip. Why wouldn't she have a shot at getting elected ? After the Bush administration, people want a change. A radical change ! The Clinton years seem like a walk in the park compared to what we have seen from the current camp and I think a lot of people would welcome another Clinton administration. It's about time we got a woman in office.
I beleive i have said on SW that i never voted. Ok...my bad, or perhaps not. It's my choice. This is one woman i have been reading about and watching on TV...I WOULD vote for her.
Now i don't feel any person can change the world (except Clapton) but i like how she talks, what she says. Her plans.
Like most politicians, what she says and what she does may not have anything in common.

I like Hillary alot but I LOVEEEEEEE me some Obama. This is so hard. I was hoping that more people would be in favor of Obama.
Some Douchebag: "[Pimp C] 12:43 am: its true we got to stick together the black people on SW CK you is teh condoleeza of SW"

the ones that 'matter' seem to be favoring Obama. I'm talking about Mayor Daley, various Hollywood Celebrities, 'Little Pinch' Sulzberger ...
If George Soros backs away from supporting Hilary then she's in deep trouble.
